Hey guys

Just wanted to share a little win I've had with anyone that's interested in SEO. My new google adwords course was launched about a week ago and my sales page is already #4 in the google results for my term (google adwords course) out of almost 1,000,000 websites.

Google and Perry Marshall are beating me for position, as you would expect, but that's okay with me.

Even after 7 years of professional SEO work, I still get super excited each and every time I make it into the top results on google

thanks for the kudos! I'm pretty happy about the result considering I put about 30-40 minutes into getting the site ranked. I've developed a good little system to gain maximum ranking and exposure by using just a few websites and tools for submission.

If enough people want to know my system, so they can easily and quickly rank any website (new or old) in google, then post a reply here giving me a shout and I'll put together all of the details to share with everyone

Hows it all going for you then? Does it seem like information overload learning everything? There is so much information out there, but really the entire SEO process boils down to a few core things that you need to focus on. I've been to the dark side of the moon with SEO in the past, but I like to work smart these days so I have a nice little system that takes a short amount of time by using leveraged sites and feeds

Hit me up if you want some tips or guidance, always happy to help out a fellow warrior!

Way to go Nicholas! I'd be very interested to hear about your SEO system... sometimes it feels a bit overwhelming with so many backlinking options, tools, etc. If you have a streamlined system in place that can make seo more efficient, I'm sure a lot of people here could benefit from your expertise. out of interest, what is your yachting site? I'm currently building a weather data website that is aimed at the professional yachting industry... it has everything from sea surface temps, to ocean currents and hi-res tidal streams. If you're a fellow sailor I'd love to get your feedback on the soon to be released site. So far the data covers some of the atlantic ocean, all of the indian ocean, australia & new zealand, europe plus the english channel

Hi Nicholas,

Always a great achievement getting to the top of Google for anything.

Not my intention to steel your thunder but it is perhaps worthwhile pointing out (before people get too carried away) that the term "google adwords course" (i.e. in speech marks) only has 5500 competing pages on Google so it's not a particularly competitive keyword to rank for. In addition, with just 9 exact match searches per day it's not a keyword that any/many others are likely to have SEO'd their site for.

Would be very interested to hear about your system but I think that it needs to be tested out on some more competitive search terms before we can conclude that it's as effective as it first appears.

EDIT: I note from Yahoo site explorer that your back links seem to be coming from profile links - aka the Angela and the Paul method. The skeptic in me notes a correlation between this and your signature...

It is great to get your sites ranked well in Google. Congratulations! However, I would like to point out something I explain to my clients and students: Google only returns 1,000 results for any search term, so a site ranking #2 is essentially ranking number two out of 1,000 possible pages, not millions.

Yeah, it doesn't sound as sexy as ranking #2 out of 200 kabillion pages, but that's the actual reality.

I'd say that's a sure thing. And now that his "hour or so" has turned into 15 hours, I wonder how much credibility his offering is going to have. IMO it's a good example of how not to conduct a product launch.
