Default Achieved #1 Position in Google (out of 74 Million) in One Day... Sort Of!

This post is really just a testimonial to the power
of YouTube marketing...

Yesterday I was creating a video to promote a
Clickbank product that I'm an affiliate for.

First, I went to Google "search-based keyword
tool" (Search-based keyword tool) and
kept experimenting until I had a list of keyword
phrases with at least 1,000 searches per month
and low competition (hint: use the filters)

Next, I went to YouTube and checked how many
videos came up with each of these keyword
phrases.

I settled on one of my three-word phrases that
only had 30 competing youtube videos.

(Unfortunately, this phrase came up with 74
million results on Google web results, but I pressed
on anyway.

At this point I uploaded my video, entered all the
appropriate information, and went on with my day.

Today (one day later) I entered the keyword phrase
in Google and see that there are still 74 million results.
BUT then I click on the "videos" link and my video
is in the #1 position.

Now I haven't had any sales yet as a result of this video,
but have had about a couple dozen clicks so far (and
the day isn't over yet!)

Lest you think this was just a fluke, I am able to do
this on a regular ba sis (and so can you.)

IMHO, it's easy, free, and worth giving a try.

Yes I can also testify to the power of YouTube marketing, especially for low competition keywords. They just rank so easily.

Yeah, youtube videos will rank really well since youtube has so much authority.

Build backlinks to your video in related sites, I've gotten sales from comment backlinks alone! My videos never ranked so high unfortunately the top ranked videos had 100's of thousands of views.

Thanks for sharing your results, Brian.

I'm going to be testing YouTube marketing as soon as the VA I'm looking to hire can start.

Warmly,
Dan

You gotta love youtube. Also, don't negate the other video engines. They are not as powerful but sometimes.... Also, doing the back and forth link for the youtube video - post the video on your site and put your site link in the video, is quite powerful too.

I don't do any other ClickBank promotions, but I did one as an example for my guide to creating video commercials about 1 1/2 years ago. It promotes a pretty crappy sales page for tattoo designs (yes, I wanted to challenge my video's pre-selling).

It's now had well over 55,000 views on YT alone, and brings in steady (not huge, but steady) commissions from that one product. It is still number one on YT for its kwp, and rates on page one in Google.

I used other video sites too (as fthomas137 pointed out, don't discount them). Those sites got my video on some great niche sites and blogs. Also, they rated high earlier in Google. YT videos tend to take longer to climb the Google charts.

I agree... videos that I upload to DailyMotion and MetaCafe
often do even better in the video ranking early on than do
the YouTube videos.

I'd be interested to know if your video showed in the webs results at all. I can't imagine a lot of people clicking on the video tab when they're looking for something. I guess it depends on the subject and niche.

Well done either way and thanks for sharing!
