Default Bing is a tough nut to crack! What's the secret of getting ranked in Bing?

So, getting love from the big G isn't so tough. I have a nice little system down for getting indexed and ranked pretty well.

Bing, on the other hand, is so new and I don't have any clue as to "what's under the hood"

I had a site that was in top 10 of Google. It was in top 10 of Bing too. The site is now at #3 in Google for its main keyword. Now, it's nowhere to be found on Bing.

What the heck?

Not that this is the most important thing in the world, considering Big Daddy G gets most of the searches, but Bing has me perplexed. Can anyone clue me on how to get indexed and ranked in Bing? Is it a completely different strategy than what you would use for Big Daddy G?

Thanks in advance.

Jason, Darn Good Question....

I have XsitePro built sites and WP sites with the flexibility theme, among others. I have many - many KW within the top 4 'G' spots... Heck... I have a site that has mucho.... #1 'G' positions....... Where do they rank in 'Bing' all over the place - again, BUT... no where near the 'G' rankings....I don't get it! Maybe one of the more experienced Warrior's has an idea...

IMHO - If you really want a top spot on Bing - you have to buy it

They drop webpages that have a lot of backlinks and are highly ranked in Google...I have verified with a lot of my industry keywords.

They have preferences over certain websites as well.
This actually makes sense, at least in my limited experience with it. The site that got up to #3 in Big Daddy G, has 85 incoming links. As the links started to come in, that's when it dropped out of Grand Master Bing.

Edit:

I've always found Yahoo to be kind of quirky too. I always treated it like a bratty kid sister. Acknowledged it was there, but didn't go overboard to try and bend over backwards for it. Funny enough, usually after Big Daddy G gave me the love, Yahoo would follow. This was also usually the case in MSN's search engine too.

I figured maybe, just maybe, Bing would do the same. It just doesn't seem so, because like I said, my ranking was there, then it was gone. I know Google does a dance once in a while too, but this was so blatant that I was kicked out and probably will stay kicked out.

Google couldn't beat google if it started up now. Bing has some good features and my sites have ranked well there and it's sent me traffic.

I think it has a better shot than any other new SE I've seen to at least carve out a market share - but that may depend on making some real adjustments and also on focusing on the search engine quality rather than infighting with google.

one good thing about bing, their webmaster's forums are dofollow and Google picks up your footer links quickly
