Advice needed for header tags in wordpress blog

Hi there,

I am looking for some SEO advice for header tags in wordpress.

I would like to know how best to structure:

1. Homepage header tags - What tag is best used for individual post headings. Should I use h2 or h1?

2. Individuals Posts header tags - For this I have it set up so that the title of each individual post is written in h1 tags.

By default wordpress puts the name of your blog in h1 tags. Meaning that my individual posts have 2 sets of h1 tags.

the name of my blog and the title of the post.

I don't actually mind having the name of my blog in h1 tags on the hompage (as it is keyword rich) but I can't see the point of having it in h1 tags on individual posts.
