I was researching some CPA offers this morning and the brand name search had only 1 competing result. I try again 15 mins ago (6-7 hrs later) .. and there are 14000 results! But that's not the fun part.. I created a page on my website.... and i'm on the first page of Google in exactly 31 mins! So far, I thought only black hat stuff could do this... check out the attachment! Where did I go from here? ...... Google Trends & Google Insights for search... |

The first time you searched, it was probably a glitch due to cache, typo or something, it happens sometimes, sometimes you search a keyword and then without changing anything just hit the search button again and you may get a slightly different number of competing sites than your previous query. I searched for the same keyword you are talking about and found around 20 results on first few pages that were last crawled in July and August 2009. And that is the beauty of the blog, particularly posts on blogs with PR tend to get indexed fast. |

I've also had some pretty quick indexing on product names for new sites. However, I've found that if I sit back and do nothing then after a week or two my site falls off the first page. It's like I got a "beginner's luck" bonus from Google. What I've found works best is if I drip some content and links each day to the site, especially in that first week. If I'm able to do that then the ranking seems to maintain it's position longer. Just my own experience. Wendell | |

I've heard of someone getting their site to No 1 within one hour of putting it up... guess they know what they're doing...
