Default You Should Read This...

Yes, even if you don't have a website you still need to read this. (Seriously.)

Google Owns Your Internets - John Andrews - johnon.com

IMO Google isn't going to take over the world anytime soon. And i'm sure before what they say will happen, happens, many things will change.

But it's still a very interesting read and a nice, kind of scary, insight into what Google has planned.

Zach

P.S- Don't stop doing what you're doing because of this post. Google search, as we know it, will be around for much longer. But they do have aggressive plans that involve maybe not making any money from search(Adwords) and instead focusing on other sources of income. IMO this will spell their defeat, eventually.

What an aggressive plan by google !
We should have our plans too. We
have to avoid this from happening..

But we never know the future..whatever
it is, google has the power..what
we can do..

Not worried. The writer is correct in his discussion of some degree
of cluelessness revealed by the ceo. That may be his dream, who knows.

Google may be the heavy gorilla on the internets, but mother nature - in
the form of human nature - can whip google's butt with both hands on
the keyboard.

In a real sense this google guy is speaking in almost anti-web 2 oh speak.
He's also demonstrating incredible arrogance, and ignorance, by pretending
to know what's best for the world.

They do not know what is best for us. All of us in this world. They should
have a razor sharp idea of what people want. But it sounds like that is not
being taken into consideration.

Sounds more like they want to try to force what they want down our
throats. Won't work. Never will.

Nature always seeks a balance. Nature is more powerful than google will
ever be on their best day. Nature will win.

Other search engines will watch and learn from google's mistake on this. And
they really don't have to do much to capitalize on it when the opportunity
presents itself. (And the hyper-cool seo will go the way of Jimmy Hoffa.) lol.

Let's get back to work.

You don't have to like or love everything or everyone, not in the usual sense. Injustices and villains always abound during primitive times. You knew this would be true before you chose this life, just as you knew that the good and the beauty would far exceed the bad and the ugly.
Go where you're drawn, and dwell upon all that is good. ~ Mike Dooley

Here's what has happened historically to companies who went too far in that direction...

Standard Oil Co. of New Jersey v. United States
United States v. AT&T
United States v. Microsoft
European Union Microsoft competition case

Google will get there too, perhaps sooner than we think. But, until then, you can always opt out...

Hi,

Fantastic video that made me smile. I think that Google absolutely takes themselves entirely to seriously. They will one day hit their peak and be replaced. The Internet is a brutal place!

Their slide down will be painful but well deserved.

just my 2 cents
