I was looking at my Google Analytics stats and to my surprise we had received a visitor using our target search keyword phrase(which is part of the domain name). I've always considered ranking highly for this to be a long term thing - I believe we'll get there, but probably in a few months. We've been working hard on SEO and backlink building since we put the site up a month ago. Anyway, I went to google and it turns out the visitor came from a misspelling of the keyword phrase It has 2 of the same letters in the first word, they had missed out one of them. I'm not sure how we rank number 1 for it - the word isn't misspelled anywhere on the site Oh well, it feels nice to almost be number 1 The misspelling actually gets 4 searches per day, so we might pick up more visitors and even some sales sometime with it |

Hi Liam, Yes, Google is good that way. You are also likely to get visits from local traffic thanks to geo-location targeting. |

Excellent I just wish more than 4 people per day misspelled it The correct spelling gets 1,600 searches per day.

One of my sites also has the same anomaly. I'm ranking #1 for a misspelling and try as I might, I can't find that misspelled word anywhere within that particular site. One place I've not yet looked is the backlinks. I wonder if someone is linking to my site with misspelled anchor text? Hmmmm... |
