Hey gang,

Here's a great FREE way to spy on your competition, see who they have linking back to them and then go after the same sites and add them to your own linking portfolio.

First off, find out who your top competitors are in Google and then head over here:

BacklinkWatch

Enter the URL into the search box, sit back watch the page load...

Depending on how many backlinks the site has, this can take a little while to complete.

Then simply scroll through the results looking for sites you can go after to get to link back to your own site.

Let me know how you make out.

Hi Scot, thanks for the resource but when I ran the report, after a minute it stopped and only returned...

"Saved Till"

Is this code for "No backlinks"?

UPDATE: Ok, now I see the results are actually tallied at the bottom of the screen under the ads.

I've been doing this lately, works good.

But there are better ways to effectively spy the competitors...

Yep backlinkwatch dot com is a great tool Scot - it seems to return the same results as Yahoo Site Explorer BUT reveals anchor text, outbound links from each page and doesn't stop at 1,000 links (which Yahoo does).

Scot fantastic share!

I use this tool all the time especially to check the anchor text used and so you can wade out the good places to put your own backlinks with the OBL section.

Only annoying thing is that the PR section doesn't work... but heck not everything can be perfect!

It is actually one of the tools i shared within my unlimited authority backlinks wso when it was selling!

The results between Yahoo and BLW are different whenever I use it. If you use BLW and it freezes then just go back to the homepage and run it again .. it works for me on the second time usually.

Hmmm

I ran one of my own sites and only got 12 backlinks.
When I run it on Yahoo Site Explorer I show about 390.

Not sure why I wouldn't use Site Explorer...

I have been doing this but it doesn't show all useful backlinks sometimes. And only 1000 are viewable. Anyways, this method is very good to find backlinks.
