A bunch of adsense questions

Hi, i am new at adsense.
Here are a few questions that i did not understand from the forum:
1. Can i find out how much backlinks does my site have?
2. How do you know the emount of competition that your site have?
2. After opening an adsense acount, can i open a site with one article and put an ad on it? Is it possible to rank high with a one article site?
4. I just opened a new site and i would appreciate some advice on what to change. And if you think it is possible for me to get ranked high with these site. My site is first-time-home-loans.com , please give me something!
5. Can i rank high using only ezine a resellersgo directory submitter?

Please help..
