I've been backlinking a couple of my EZA articles in an attempt to get them ranking high and after reading something on here yesterday, I now realise I probably haven't given enough importance to keyword density I have 2 questions really:-1. Is a 1-2% keyword density what I should be aiming for? i.e the main keyword phrase I am aiming to rank for(which is also in the title) maybe once or twice each 100 words? 2. If an article has no mention of the exact keyword phrase in the body, just in the title - can you still rank highly for it by building high authority backlinks? Help and advice much appreciated |

Liam, if your target is to rank high with your article, you should have your keyword in the title, teaser and a couple of times in the bodycopy. Once in bolded, italic and underlined. Then of course in the About The Author Box as a hyperlinked anchor text. One thing is also important as too the ranking: what article directory you use. Usually Ezinearticles gives a good result. The demand the keyword has has also an influence. I think you should pick a long tail keyword ( from three to five words) which has about 20-50 searches a day. |

I personally do not worry to much about keyword density. What I do focus on is LSI. Google's index will build your content into it and associate synonyms and other descriptors within your content. Read here for more info- How Does Google Use Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI)? Even Matt Cutts has said that keyword dumping within content is a no-no..google gets the hint..your article/site is about keywordx |

7% keyword density is what I aim for... too much and Google will not like it.. Not enough and google wont know what its about... |

Thanks for your input guys I have one more question:-If I go back and edit an EZA article to make sure it has the relevant keywords in the relevant places, will it still have the same link when it's reapproved? This way the backlinks I've already built will still count as juice.... |
