I've only just become super comfortable with SEO and I feel my knowledge is "up there" but when you mention PPC, I get shivers down my spine! I can set up a ppc campaign etc but no way am I comfortable with it. Are you comfortable with PPC and how did you initially feel about it ? |

Both SEO and PPC has its own advantages and disadvantages. After working on PPC for a while, I started to like PPC compared to SEO for the following reasons: * Ads appear quickly usually within 15 minutes * Flexible keyword targeting: Broad match, phrase match, exact match, and negative keywords * Geo-targeting: Target prospects from pre-defined regions; show different marketing messages to people from different regions. * Able to split test ads to determine the optimum ad title, ad copy, etc. * Able to set preferred ad position: There's no guarantee but it's much easier to influence the position of your ad |

Both should be used to compliment each other, in my humble opinion. Use PPC for a short blast at the begining, while you're waiting for Google to natually index your site. SEO can be a slow process so cover all your bases. |

As with any kind of marketing, if you don't know how to use if correctly it won't work for you.

If you're hosting a wordpress blog and install the SEO all in one plugin, the (on page) SEO side of things are pretty much covered, that is if your keyword research has been done correctly.

| PPC can be very tricky. I use PPC to generate leads. If you know how much money you will make with every lead and you are breaking even, or making a small profit, then PPC is a great marketing tool. I use PPC to build a list of subscribers who are it home business/network marketing. I only bid a maximum of 12 cents a keyword. I don't know how some people can actually afford to pay $5 a click... As long as you are in the green, PPC is the way to go.

Also another thing to consider, is to start small. If your proficient in SEO, thn you'll really enjoy the content networks of PPC. Content network is way cheaper, less strict about quality score, and I find that I get a way better ROI compared to search. And if your just starting with PPC, start with Adcenter, or YSM, and get your feet wet. Those are the networks for testing stuff out, since they aren't as strict as the big G. One book I'd recommend you check out is called Adwords 180, it teaches you how to utilize the content network, and was a huge jump start for me |

Hi michael_nguyen, How do I feel about PPC? It gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling, as does anything that so reliably makes me money. honestly and ethically. Some people balk at the cost, but that seems to me to be a silly notion. If you make $2.00 for every $1.00 you spend, how much do you want to spend? For me the answer is as much as I can. I wouldn't be comfortable doing SEO without using PPC to test my assumptions before launching a major SEO campaign. |

I use PPC to drive sales to my amazon affiliate site and when i first started everyone said i was crazy and would lose a lot of money. They were right,in my first three months i lost a few hundred pounds but i was able to turn that around and now make thousands each month I know it was a bold step, but i have over 4 years experience with PPC and i knew i was going to make it. You just have to test, test and test and trust me you will succeed |

About like I feel about day trading stocks. I know people make good money with it but it doesn't work well for me. The basic problem I have with it is that unless you're advertising a stable, money making, venture, like a mid-to-high volume ecommerce operation, you're essentially using leveraged money (aka credit or deep pockets). This means a much higher risk level financially where the potential rewards and losses are high. Bottom line, I'm pretty conservative financially (aka a cheap tightwad) and if I'm going to gamble, I'll play Texas Hold 'Em instead. |

You must pick the right affiliate product, or CPA offers, in niches with lots of cheap click keywords. That part isn't easy, but once you do that it is smooth sailing.

| PPC is considered an easy income of money and more traffic. There is nothing wrong about it. Well that's what I think. |
