I was taking a look at google insights for search and noticed that they're now giving the html code to embed a table in your website, containing the rising searches for the keyword you specify over a time period (30 days in this case). ![]() This takes me back to the 'good old days' of News Equalizer, which would embed the lastest related news stories in the bottom of the webpage and pick up traffic for the latest searches - the ones not appearing in the keyword tools because they were specific to events. So, the HTML code from insights that you can embed in the html of your page will be constantly updated according to the latest trends, products and news stories to come up. I'm thinking that this might be useful in getting some long tail, current event traffic from the search engines. If the google spider reads the table as normal content on your site, then for these very specific rising searches you will be amongst a few websites using these long tail keywords. This is just theory right now, i'm going to give it some tests and see what happens. Experiments never fail, they just tell you which direction you need to go in. |

Jason, It costs nothing to test, but Google won't probably index those keywords if they're not related to your content. And even if they index them, the resulting traffic is not gonna be targeted so you can't expect huge conversion. Well, in any case, testing won't hurt and you may discover something in the process. I would also assume that that content is dynamicallypulled in via javascript in the same way adsense is so would not be indexed. Patrice - Getafix: brilliant avatar |
