Default Keyword research tools?

What are your favorite keyword research tools?

I want to research keywords in terms of # of searches and competitiveness, but have yet to find an easy to understand tool.

Google Keyword Tool does just fine in listed # of monthly searches and competition. Follow that up with google trends to make sure you aren't hitting a keyword term that looks to be losing its hits and you should be fine.

No. The Google Keyword Tool shows you advertiser competition only (i.e. Adwords) and how many searches there are for that term per month.

My favorite all-in-one keyword research tool is Market Samurai.

I was sitting like this for a couple months after reading that MS was the best product a lot of people have purchased. I did not jump on board since I thought they were very similar.

Last Thursday I met a local IM and he said try the trial. He said try the 7 day trial, so I did and there is no looking back.

Just a word of warning, it is very addictive and compliments MNF well.

If you do use the Google keyword tool (which despite having MS I tend to do, I just find it easier) make sure that you change the drop down menu in the top right (named results iirc) from broad to exact - this will give you the search results you are looking for, broad gives a huge range of other aspects that will make you think there are a lot more searches than there actually are

I have been using Google Keyword Tool for more than 2 years now. I was very excited when Google decided to release search volume data.

I will be exploring Market Samurai soon as I have heard quite a lot of positive reviews about it.

By the way, I've just checked Market Samurai's website. It seems that they have raised their price to $149.

I used Seobook Keyword Research Tool and Adword Keyword Research Tool because it viewed the statistics of daily searches and volume search. I also used the Keyword Spy and Sem rush in checking the competitor site

If you goto Market Samurai, it is $97. It may be also that I am in the free 1 week trial and they give you a cheaper price.

I was just about to purchase the Micro Niche Finder. But I noticed that there are a lot of really great reviews about Market Samurai. Most people seem to think that Market Samurai is better than Micro Niche Finder. I'm going to have to compare the two products a bit more closely to determine what the major differences are.
