Yep, they haven't used it for at least 4-5 years now. It's just waaay too inaccurate since anyone can put anything there. They use meta description sometimes (they may list the meta description under your result on the SERPs), but they haven't used the meta keyword for ages now. |

According to Matt Cutts, even the meta-description is has no effect on search rankings, "meta descriptions don’t count in scoring (that is, determining the scores which are then used to determine what order to show the results in). So changing your meta description tag won’t make your website rank higher." But I like the meta-description because it you can write the copy to get visitors to click |

This doesn't mean we should stop using meta tags, imo, many other search engines read these tags and using them won't harm your rank.
