Default MNF add on: available domains (.com N, .net Y, .org Y)

I really love to use tools like Micro Niche Finder to sort out niches, but in my opinion, one feature that would be even more powerful than SOC would be the inclusion of three columns across the top of the results grid for any given keyword search...

.com | .net | .org

Since, it make no sense to check SOC if you can't get one of the top level domains for your keyword phrase, I only do SOC checks after I've ran all my keyword finds through ajaxwhois.com to see the available domains.

Anyone know of a tool that does this with the ease of MNF's quick lookup?

Hey, that would be a GREAT addition to MNF. I hope James takes notice.

It's already in MNF. Click on any keyword, and you'll get a pop-up menu. From there you can go right to a whole bunch of time-saving features, including affiliate program search, an exact-phrase Google search, Ezinearticles search, do a further keyword drill down, and a whole lot of other functions.

One of those menu choices is "DomainTools Lookup". That will load the Domain Tools webpage with a query of your keyword as a .com. It will also show on the right panel which of the main TLD's (.com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, and .us) are registered or no.

Hey Mark, huge respect to you, but the length it took for you to explain how to access the domain tools lookup, underscores my point.

I understand the existing functionality. I'm saying, don't hide it in a popup menu that's 3 clicks and a browser load away from my core results.

Wouldn't it be so much better to have 3 columns ***right there in your search results*** with .com, .net and .org along with Green or Red color codes for at-a-glance decision making (just like you use SOC now).

The columns could be made optional if you like, but they would be right there alongside SOC, OCI, etc.

I'm just saying... That would be a killer add on for this already steller tool.

I feel like domain name availability is at least as vital a factor as SOC and arguably more so, since I believe its possible to overcome a red SOC with an exact match keyword domain and sound backlinking. Now that I've seen this in action, I don't rely as much on SOC as I used to. I check domain name availability before even running SOC.

Point taken, but keep in mind that what would be a stellar addition and warrant 3 columns on the main screen for some may be of considerably less interest to others.

Personally, I often find myself checking domain names before going too deep in my research. But, and it's a big "but", that's when the objective of my research is to create a site. I use MNF at least as often researching for long-tail keyword/phrases where I might already have a site, or for PPC purposes, etc.

I found myself getting frustrated also going back and forth re: domain names, and that was after I discovered the 'left-click menu'. Before that it was even more of a chore. However, it was even more of a chore in other tools that didn't even give me that. In fact, I find the tools on that menu very closely match what I need.

All that said, no reason not to contact James directly and suggest it.

I think the domain availability would be great in a column with it linked to check on demand like the OCI, SOC, etc. I also think that being able to select which columns are displayed would be great so that users can customize the environment to there needs.

Something I have done in the past is to export to csv, grab all the keywords, and paste them into GoDaddy's bulk domains tool. That is a pretty quick way to see what is available for a big list of keywords, but then correlating is a bit of a pain since you will have 0-3 results for each keyword returned depending on com/net/org availability.
