I wish to register a number of domains then interlink them, but I wish to keep my ownership from Google, I assume the privacy option is the way to go or can Google see the details still?

Google is a registrar, meaning even with private registration info, they can likely see what's up. Only safe way I think would be to use a family member or work location for the info.

Use several IPs on SEO hosting providers and like Terry said use your friends or colleagues info. Ask them to register a domain for you.

Hi ske11, Google doesn't spend a lot of time looking at who owns a domain and how they might be connected to other people unless you are an AdSense publisher. They have many, many ways to make connections between users, domain ownership is just one of the many ways. If you are not an AdSense publisher and you are not doing anything illegal than simply using a different address, phone and email will make you appear as a different person. You name is rarely a unique identifier, however your contact information is, so all you need to do is borrow the address and contact info of a friend or relative. |

goto domaintools.com and type in your domain name and see how much info they imply to know. Google may know all that and more and possibly can see through privacy settings though this is not confirmed bulletproof way is to have your friends register it %99 effective way is to use misspellings on your name and address and a different email so they dont cross reference in automated lookup. |

Registrars can't (or aren't really legally allowed to, at least) share private data with other companies. Assuming the registrant has WHOIS privacy on, that is. Google figure this stuff out since usually the sites share the same (or same IP class) IP address, hence it's quite likely that there's a link wheel of sorts going on. And as mentioned above, AdSense publishers using the ads on multiple sites is also a give-way. Of course, if privacy isn't enabled though, then *anyone* in the World can get the WHOIS info via a simple script (e.g. http://www.cogah.com/index.php/DomainWhois/, which I made - it's all publically available unless the person buys privacy protection... and even then some registrars make it simple to get the private information which is meant to be "protected", but that's another topic) | |

Have someone buy it for you and keep it in their name. If you know a domain reseller, buy it, keep it in his/her name. My host is my domain seller. He forgot to transfer one of my domains to me, so it kept showing him as the owner. Paul |
