GoogleBot visited 76 times, but site nowhere to be found

WP site built and has been live for about 5 days now. Stats show that GoogleBot has visited 76 times. Yet, it is nowhere to be found in SERPs.

Sitemap created, verified at Google Webmaster Tools, and pinged at various places.

Tried finding it with "site:domain.com" and there is nothing.

I have not back-linked or anything yet, but I'm just stumped as to why it would not appear at all in the SERPs if GoogleBot has visited 76 times. Also have Adsense on the site.

Any insights would be apprecitated!

Hi Gene,

Do you have an XML sitemap on your blog ? If not, you might want to use this free Wordpress plugin to generate one:
Google (XML) Sitemaps Generator for WordPress

From my experience having a sitemap makes a big difference with respect to how quickly pages are indexed.

This just happened to one of my sites as well, I wouldn't worry about it. Typically it takes some time between visiting and indexing.

Seems it just took longer than usual for me. The site HAS now been indexed as of an hour ago. All is well
