Default Site with multiple low traffic but high CPC pages = great Adsense site?

In my continuing keyword research I have found a number of very high paying CPC keyword phrases grouped thematically under a category which in itself is way, way too competitive for me to hope to rank well in.

These keyword phrases don't have a ton of traffic to them. Say less than 1000 per month each.

But...they all deal with the same general subject category and their CPC is quite high. Also..the page rank of the top 4 pages that appear under a search in quotes for each low traffic keyword phrase is on average 3 or below.

I am wondering if a way to capitalize on these low traffic keyphrases for purposes of Adsense would be to create a site with multiple pages optimized for each keyword phrase? Instead of one site around each of the low traffic keyphrases?

So for example I might have found several duck keyword phrases under the general category of duck.

Like so...

the way to skin a duck
cooking a duck
duck soup recipe
ducks of california

Each with a traffic of 1000 per month but each paying an ECPC of $10 per click.

Now the general category of duck would be way too broad and competitive but I am thinking I could build a site around the general theme of ducks somehow and incorporate individual pages to focus on each of the four phrases above.

So I could register a domain of myduckthoughts.com or some such and then have four pages on the site besides the home page. Each of the four pages would focus on one of the keyword phrases above.

While each keyword phrase is too low in traffic to give me much if I lump then together into one site, the return from the site might be quite good.

Does that sound like a good strategy to capture income from low traffic keyword phrases that in themselves are not very profitable to build a site around but which together might end up being quite profitable?

Any input would be appreciated.

Carlos

PS. I have not looked up duck or any of the other phrases so I have no idea if these are any good. If they are good by all means take them though of course it would be quite funny if the one's I came up with off the top of my head turned out to be quite profitable.

I would consider making a blog / wordpress / hubpage / wetpaint about the various topics and sticking your adsense in that before buying a site and hosting it for yourself.

If you want to do a site, I'd just make a website dedicated to each group of keyphrases and then have a page that targets each one individually.

Also consider bookmarking them on some of the bookmark sites for those phrases - again, each page individually targeting a specific keyword.

Thanks for the input tguillea. I don't think I would like to do anything other than creating a web site of some sort. That way I can use Google Analytics and other stats to better determine what is happening. If building a site for what I have described is not worth it I will just drop these low traffic keyphrases and find others with more traffic.

Anybody else?

Carlos
