Google Adwords is the best without question. Just be aware that the monthly search numbers are greatly inflated.

Since you are new to internet marketing I would suggest Google Adwords. It should easily provide the keyword data you need for local business SEO.

The Free Google Adwords Tools is good if you want it free. Or you can choose Keyword Research Pro which has more functions, its very easy to use.

Definitely Google Adwords, its the best keyword suggestion tool that will help to choose the best of the best keywords for your website. Wordtracker is also a good one but its a paid site. So, small website owner can't afford it, google adwords tool is basically a free tool to use.

I recommend you to start buying 2 tools which I highly recommend.
MicroNicheFinder - Use to find profitable niche Keyword Elite 2 - Use to find profitable keywords within a niche. Invest on proper tools and stop wasting time on inaccurate free tool like wordtracker and google keyword research. |

What I suggest is that if you do use the Google Keyword Tool, and the monthly searches are within the acceptable range for your business model, then go for that keyword. Chances are that the traffic you will receive from Yahoo and Bing will make up the difference of inflation, if there is any at all. On another note, I use Micro Niche Finder with the Google Keyword Tool. Additionally, you will find other successful people such as Xfactor/John and others have nothing but glowing reviews for MNF. Good luck! Rhett | |

MNF is great and the owner is currently working on version 5.0. I have had a few emails with the owner as I requested some functions that hopefully he will add soon.

My hands down favorite keyword research tool is Market Samurai.
If you decide to try it out, do so by joining Ed Dale's 30 Day Challenge first (it's free to join...and it's awesome). I do believe they still offer a discount if you decide to purchase the full version of Market Samurai. (Market Samurai has a free keyword research tool, but also many other killer features such as search engine competition analysis are found in the paid version) |

Google AdWords Keyword Tool is one of the best if not the best,
dig a bit deeper in Google when you have got your general keyword then go into google insights and start playing around. This is Good for showing trends and demographic terms, I use this all the time. IF you want to find a profitable keyword that has low competition then try ppc bully or keyword elite 2. ”saves a lot of time” |

I like Keyword Elite 2.0 and Keyword Blueprint. I also cross reference with manual searching and the google keyword tool.

Hey Dillinger.
As you say you are fairly new to online marketing, my advice would be to use as many of the free tools as you can to start with... However as you gain experience look for smart software that can really make you money long-term... as I discovered myself they can make all the difference. There is a great deal of information available many systems to choose from. My advice; try and stay focused on one topic at a time and not get sidetracked. Take a look at my home page for free web tutorials and copywriting links… My personal story may also help inspire you to keep it simple… Good luck |

the best tools that people know about and experts here recommend are
Market Samurai and Micro Niche Finder, the rest dont bother, you can have a trial of both, they are based on google keyword tool , but it gives you that extra data you need to pick keywords, which google keyword tool cannot retrieve by itself. |

Google Adwords is good. And why don't you try Google insight? You can also try Google insights for keywords research. Google Insights is good since it provides a visual representation of regional interest on a map.

I am using Google Adwords Keyword Tool and Link Diagnosis.com - both are good..!
But i can get new keyword ideas and also search volume only in Google- though the number may be the rough one but still it was very useful to select & target any keyword..! |

I use Google Keyword Tool everytime, but always supplement with Google Insight - so se trends in keywords etc. I also supplement with others, as cross examination is essential to make correct decisions.

I would use google adwords keyword suggestion tool then put those keywords through free keyword tracker.com if all you are looking for is ruff traffic stats for keywords and ideas for new keywords. However if you are looking for more details like PPC etc then have a look at keyword elite 2
Cheers |
