I've been running a campaign for the last 3 weeks with about 5,000 keywords and of course only a handful of them are driving traffic. Most of the other keywords have zero impressions/clicks. So I wanted to know if having these no-impression keywords in the same campaign and/or adgroup as the other nicely performing keywords negatively affects the overall quality of your campaign/adgroup?

Hi sunseven, Keywords having low impressions won't hurt your campaign. It's the high impression keywords that you need to be watching closely. Low CTR is what will really hurt you, regardless of the number of impressions. If you have keywords with low CTR mixed in with your ad groups or campaigns, those will hurt you. That is why it is a very good idea to keep the number of keywords in your ad groups as small as possible. one keyword per ad group is usually best. |
