I've read that Twitter can get your site or Web 2.0 properties indexed if you post it. Personally, I don't believe it. Has anyone heard this???

Are you meaning if you tweet with a link to your website? I don't see how it could hurt. But it shouldn't be the only strategy for getting your site indexed.

I implemented my blog and having been running traffic purely from twitter - I wanted to know what the impact of using twitter for traffic was.

I've achieved a 3/10 google page rank (from the google toolbar). This is purely from twitter traffic.

My blog enteries get retweeted a fair bit as well so I get traffic from many different twitter accounts.

Not sure this answers the question but as far as I can tell its pretty good for organic page rankings

Hi bigcat1967,

It seems that the search engines have an army of bots crawling Twitter non-stop. I have found it very good for both indexing and traffic.

i am using twitter it is big source of traffic. 50% traffic of my blog come from twitter

no doubt twitter helps boost traffic if you know how to use it right... i'm still learning so i cant really help you on this one.

but i will say this. social media is off the chain. search engines love twitter and these days, many ppl spend most of their day tweeting. they tweet via their computer/laptop, their mobile device, etc.

so as far as your question is concerned, i dont really know how to answer it, but i will say that twitter can get you extra traffic.
