I have successfully brought one website to generate $4,000+ per month in sales. I am well on my way to bringing a second website with six times the search traffic to the same Google rankings and thus multiplying sales greatly. The only problem with this is that along with the sales comes the ball and chain of ordering products, shipping them out and keeping customers happy. I am now intrigued with XFactor's methodology of micro niche marketing, using Adsense. No ordering products, no shipping them out, no dealing with customers. The beginnings of my online success also came from article marketing. I have long since been distracted by many other methods, but have the same origins. Anyone else thinking that Adsense is a much better venue for making money than selling specific products? |

I would do both. Adsense is obviously a bit easier (no products to ship/orders to process/etc). But all it takes is for Google to decide they don't want your business and you're SOL. There will be up-front work setting up the sites and getting them ranked, so you should be ok with writing a lot of articles. The big thing to think about is diversity. Having more than one income stream in case something happens to one of them. It seems like, depending on the product, you could make more money selling a product unless you've got 1,000 adsense sites. |

Makes sense. What revenue streams do you use?

I do both, but my products get automatically shipped out via my fulfillment house. I don't touch any of it - I just do what I do best... marketing. I've taken Xfactors post and really started to vamp up that side of things. Yesterday I had one domain crack the $10 mark. That's just one domain. I set it up 3 weeks ago and now it's on auto-pilot. But like the other poster said, I would never completely rely on Google and rankings forever. I always like to have 20% of my traffic coming from search engines. That usually doesn't happen, it's more like 50-60%, but it's what I shoot for with every product site I launch. I think the Adsense side of things is just "play" money and supplements what I'm doing. IMO, the most potential is with physical products, as you have the opportunity to collect data (email addresses, buyers, names, etc.) which is a huge asset. |

I believe if you already making 4k you need to stick to it and supplement with Adsense as another revenue source

Given that I am in the Adsense business to make enough to make a living from the Internet. I am shooting for having 4 sites making me $10 a day in income. If I have that all my expenses and then some will be completely covered and I can go retire in South America somewhere and live quite comfortably. It's just kinda funny to hear that what I consider to be a living is "play" money. I don't know what I would do if I made as much as you seem to make to where you would call Adsense money "play" money. I'll be tremendously happy with just 4 sites makign $10 a day each LOL. and it kept growing. My approach now is to build systems so I only work a few hours a week. Do that, and you're set.Quote:

It's definitely working for me. This is the most straight forward business model in internet marketing. Very easy rinse and repeat business. John found a formula and has perfected it.

I agree with clickbump to a certain degree but I must say, as much as I respect John's model, it's not new at all. Sorry, but it's not. My advice to anyone is, don't rely on one income source, period. I used to make 5-figures profit per month with about 1 hour of work each day and that was sweet...while it lasted (2 years for me). Where I failed is I didn't diversify and spread my risk through other forms of "internet real estate". There are many methods to employ and one thing to think about is, if you can get your site to make say $1 a day with Adsense, you can flip it for 10-15x monthly income and move on to the next project(s) with your profit. There is no perfect method. Diversity is key. Scott |

All good points and I'm definitely not one to put all my eggs in one basket, but I am saying this: if i have a site optimized for adsense, I don't mix offers. I only offer adsense. The key is, if your adsense site is built around a product keyword, and you lose your adsense account (by doing something stupid or otherwise) you merely have to switch revenue models over to physical product. Your traffic should support either model.

I agree with you clickbump, and a good point to make! That's one thing I definitely agree with the xfactor model. Then again, this is pretty much common sense. We all have to stay on our toes as I don't think there is such a thing as "set and forget...forever". Boy how I wish there was! lol |

That's the nice thing about Adsense, people want a site that is pretty much self-automated income and most people have access to Adsense. After bouncing around from method to method and perfecting none, I'm going to take a dual-pronged approach...build adsense sites for myself and flip the losers. This isn't new or my idea but it makes sense. Imagine building 50 sites a month, then flipping 20 that aren't performing great (fro, an Adsense pov), that gives you instant cash to buy more domains to build your portfolio. I know it's not that easy but in a way, it is ![]() This will be my basic structure for now....let's just hope I can concentrate on one or two methods without being diverted lol |
