The Best Way To Boost PR & SE Results?

I know that the biggest key to improving SE results is backlinks.

But what are the best links and are there any other ways to boost SE results and Google's PR, other than building backlinks.

I have already optimized all my web pages with 1 keyword each and I am getting pretty good traffic 30 to 50 visitors per day from the SE's, but I need a higher placement in the results to really boost my traffic.

Any ideas are welcome.

High authority backlinks are the the best. Google cares more on where your links are coming from instead of how many links you have got. Links from Dmoz, Yahoo directory and others are considered to be much better than having links on low pr directories.

Do not worry about your PR it really means nothing for you unless you are trying to sell backlinks from your site or linking to your other sites. Go for the high PR backlinks as you will gain more juice from them and beings they have high PR they are more trusted and respected by Google. However it is a good thing to have some low PR backlinks as well as long as they are from quality sites, this makes your backlinks look more natural which is important so not to have it look like you are creating all the backlinks yourself. Backlinks are a popularity contest and if it looks like you have rigged the vote Google may slap you around a bit.
