I am new to posting here but have been following the forum for awhile. I am starting an offline consulting business and wanted to know what SEO packages the pros here would offer to new clients and what pricing they would suggest.
I know you could go crazy offering to write hundreds of articles and getting heavily into social media etc so the possible combinations could be overwhelming. Any specific package suggestions? (including suggested pricing?) Thanks for your help. |

it's all over the place.
SEO services probably have one of the widest price ranges around (except for, maybe, copy.) |

Think benefits, NOT work done. Go with a free analysis as everybody does. Make sure you speak on their level and never mention how many articles you're going to write. You won't get a single sale because they don't know what the flip you're on about. They want to know what you can do for their business. Offer a guaranteed page 1 placement or something. Not a difficult promise to keep as it doesn't have to be the top keyword, but...
Main thing you want to do: actually help them. DO the research, DO the work, and you'll keep getting clients. PS: When you get results, they'll pay whatever you want to continue. I listened to an interview with James Schramko and he got into a situation where they (a company) were happy to pay whatever he wanted because his services had actually impacted their bottomline positively. |

Great advice from Marcel!
I tend to find out what they want first. If you ask them which package they would like, be ready to give a refund because they chose the wrong package for their business. A consultant and salesman are two different things. Be a consultant, leave the sales to the cookie cutters. If you have any clients in mind, I'd be happy to help you out free of charge.

Thanks for all your suggestions
. My main concern is not so much selling clients on my services- I think I have some good ideas on how to do that-I'm more concerned about the contractual side of things. Making sure that the client doesn't come back to say "that's not what I thought you meant" etc.So having set packages (how many articles etc) and contracts is a CYA kind of thing for me. Do most of the offline consultants not worry about that? |

We do, but personally i never wrote down X articles or X position in serp's: instead we agree on work per objectives.
Page 1 - X €€€ Page 2 - X €€ Page 3 - x € > No guarantees whatsoever. We succeed - Client pay us. We fail - Client does not pay us. Client wants to keep good rankings - Client pay us a monthly fee to link development, etc etc. Again, No guarantees whatsoever. Fernando |

Discover MiniSiteBox -- Yes, You get Professional Minisites... but you don't have to spend what others charge you for a "I've seen it before!!" sales page.
We just do our stuff from scratch. You just sit and cash in. |

Fernando- Thanks for the help. Sorry to seem dense here but not sure what Page 1 -X etc and Page 2-X etc means
Are you saying you would charge they differently based on whether you got them page 1 results or page 2 results or are you saying (as I think you are) that you are charging per page? |

Just be clear the methods you will be using, and tell them that the best way to deliver results is to allow you to optimize the campaign using a variety of long term techniques that may deliver immediate results OR may take some time, depending on google's algorithm. | |

I actually charge by hour and am on the brink of outsourcing some of my work.
