I don't know if this is old news, ingenious or what. And if it is, should I have
kept it under my hat? Neh...that's not what the Warrior Forum is about. So hear me out here. We all know how quickly things get indexed at this forum, right? We also know that most of the WSOs run, if not all, are targeted to people looking to make money online in some way. Well what if we did this? We ran a WSO for our niche business, say acne prevention or whatever. We reduced the price of our regular product so that it conforms to WSO rules, naturally. Think about this. Let's say your niche is hard for you to rank well for because you have a relatively new domain. But...by putting your WSO on the Warrior Forum (with the proper keyword tags of course) you can get a higher placement for your ad for those keywords than normal. Or can you given that this is an IM forum. Point is, has anybody ever tried this? It may turn out to be a dud but it may also turn out to be quite an ingenious little thing. I don't know...That's why I'm asking. What do you folks think? Can running a WSO for a non IM item bring traffic from the search engines to the WSO forum and ultimately make you more sales than trying to slug it out with your own domain? Naturally, you would have to have a really slick looking sales page posted. Your thoughts? |

I don't think the wso section was about rankings to sell other niche products.
Can you imagine how bad it would be in there if everyone used the wso section to help rankings. Bad idea. |

** EDIT ** For what it's worth. It's not against the rules (last I checked) to sell a product there as long as it was less than what the general public could get it for and there are no restrictions to just IM products. So maybe this should be pointed out in case anybody decides to do this. Of course if the WSO mod has a problem with it, he'll reject the WSO. True? | |

Hey now, this is not about my perfectly sculpted cranium and the shine of excellence it protrudes.

While you're making jokes, take this hypothetical situation.
We all know that many of the members in this forum spend a lot of time in front of the PC typing, which can lead to carpel tunnel. No, I don't have a carpel tunnel product. But let's say somebody did, and posted an offer at the WSO forum for the product at a discount. Wouldn't this not be acceptable? And in turn, other people looking for carpel tunnel treatments would probably find the forum post while doing a search. I'm failing to see where the harm is in this. Remember, it has to be a product YOU own and you have to sell it at a price LESS than the general public can buy it for. How many IMers here fit this description? How many ACTUAL WSOs like this would REALLY be run? Think about it before you jump all over the idea. |

Steve, I can remember the occassional WSO that wasn't about marketing. Not too long ago, someone had a WSO on speeding up your PC. While that's not marketing, we do all use computers, so it was useful for a lot of people. I would like to see other useful products besides yet another backlink WSO or CPA or Twitter system, even if they're not strictly related to marketing.
