Default Google Content Network Help, Please Help!

I know this question get's asked very frequently, but...

I searched for 10 minutes on the forum and couldn't get a direct answer. I'm finally trying my hand at running just content network ads on Google in an attempt to get some of those 3, 4, 5 and 6 cent clicks that everyone is talking about. I submitted all of my ads and ad groups yesterday and set the targeting to english speaking worldwide. I know it takes time to get things approved, but I am wondering what the normal wait time that Warrior members are experiencing when it comes to getting your ads approved when you are just advertising on the content network.

Thanks!

Daniel Pereira

It should only take a few hours at most. If you Max CPC is set too low your Ads won't show.

Are your Ads still showing that they need approval or are you not seeing any impressions?

It says that it still needs approval, so my guess is that it is not a bid issue, am I right?

Hey Daniel,

I'm in the same boat. I created several adgroups each with multiple sized banners, and they are all still in the 'Pending Review' status after 4 days. I read another post somewhere else that it took someone 2 weeks....I guess Google has to be more diligent on what types of images are being displayed so there must be a human approval (with a big backlog)

The reason your campaigns are taking so long to be approved is because, everything has to be double reviewed now. Since the whole FTC crackdown, they are being super strict, so as long as you campaigns are relevant and compliant, you just have to be patient

Thanks Tim!

So does that mean that if I mask an clickbank product affiliate link with a url (iframing the pitch page) that they may not approve the campaign on the content network like they have done so many times in the past?

The Content Network is normally slower to gain approval than the Search Network. A few days delay is common. The CN is approved before you obtain displays and traffic, whereas the Search Network displays first and they may take a couple of days for a manual review.

Only if you want to get suspended. From here on out, if you want to pursue affiliate marketing for the long haul then you need to:

1.) Buy a domain
2.) Build your own website, with lots and lots of relevant and unique content/adgroup.
3.) The first page you send people to cannot be a landing page with a buy now or opt in form. You have to provide content first, and then ask for the sale on the second page.

Hey Tim,

Thanks for the info. What are your sources though? I haven't heard that things will be nearly as bad as you are stating. I believe that your steps #1 and #2 are correct will eventually be fully enforced, but I don't see any truth in your 3rd statement.

Are you saying that Google will slap you if you just have an opt-in form on the landing page or a buy link? The FTC regulation just states that you have to disclose that your buy link is an affiliate link, so there is no reason why we shouldn't still be allowed to have a buy link or an opt-in form on the landing page. So that is why I was wondering what your sources are.

Thanks!
