How to check google penatly? One of my friend suggested the following site

When I tried, it is working fine sometimes, but sometimes it does not. Anybody using this to chk your penalty? OR anyone using any other tools? Pls share

My only issue with the site is it doesn't give you any idea what the penalties are

I don't understand this. I am new to IM and have been creating Blogger blogs as a way of learning. I checked some of my blogs and was horrified to see that some of them had such high penalties that they showed as banned. These are blogs with several posts each and I have made a genuine attempt to provide content with value for the reader.
However I then checked a couple of my Hubpages. The two I checked both showed as having very high penalties with 10 points. One of these is currently half way down page 2 of google and the other is No1 on Google.
What does all this mean? I don't know what to make of it.

Never heard of it before and cannot see the usefulness of it. It certainly does not do what it claims because if you use the site to check itself it ranks 10!

First thing I would do is set up a Webmaster tools account and validate the domain. See if google responds with a message about a penalty or problem -- they often do.
