International googles and SEO question

Hello Warriors,

I have a product I wanted to promote for an international market (Brazil). Does anyone know how SEO efforts (especially backlinking) would work?

Do I research the keywords in google keyword tool (but write in portuguese keywords) or do I find the Brazilian version of google's keyword tool?

and as for the backlinks, I'm guessing just getting backlinks with TO a .com.br domain will tell google to rank that in their brazilian SERPs, or should I get links FROM .com.br

wow - I'm used to dealing just with this country (USA) - but I should focus more on the world.

I think you should be linking from other brazilian sites that are relevant with your site.

Find BR related blog sites or squidoo alternatives. SEO is SEO the priciples are the same.

You're right, focus on Brazilian sites that can link to you.

Also, a few other things you may want to do are;

- Register a Brazilian domain name so google knows which country it is relevant to
- If you cant have a Brazialn domain name then try to make the address of the domain owner in Brazil.
- Try to get a hosting company in Brazil (Im not sure how easy or reliable this is)
- Lastly, try to get only local sites lining to you.
- Googel Webmaster tools: sepcify Brazil as your target country.

The above SHOULD boost your rankings in that market.

Does your product target JUST brazil or a global audience?

Nice job zaheer, well, as far as Ed's business is concern, he is targeting brazil's market.

@ Ed: what zaheer has mentioned, should be appreciated, but i'll cover another part of your question, that is, whether to opt for Portuguese language or Keyword version, well, search engines really mix up easily with standard language, that is english. else, going for specific language, could also get you some visits.
