Techniques for yahoo and bing rankings - help required

Hi all
I do alot of seo and have always concentrated on Google - I can manage to bring my websites and websites of my clients to the first page of google as I understand what is required - All the way up until a few weeks ago I would automatically get good results on yahoo and bing also.

Since the past few weeks I have noticed that my rankings in yahoo and bing have slowly dropped even though my rankings in google still creep up.

Im a little confused as to why this is.

My personal feelings on this matter are that Yahoo and Bing react differently to google - im sure many of the readers will be awarding me a medal for pointing this out...lol

Anyway, what im trying to say is that links such as high page rank profile links which can be sourced from members such as angela work great in google but not so good in yahoo or bing.

Please dont get me wrong, they still work a treat in yahoo and bing however not as affective as they are in google.

I diversify my link building strategy and do not keep them to profile backlinks only.

Just wondering if anyone knows what works very well on yahoo and bing for getting high serps. Is there a special technique you use or do you just add a variety of sources of backlinks knowing that this is what is required and will get you ranked on all the search engines?

I have noticed sites on the first page of yahoo which are on page 3 or 4 of google - They must be doing something that yahoo likes more then google.

Any advise would be much appreciated

Strange, my site is ranking much better on Yahoo and Bing than Google. All 3 sites are always creeping up with more back links but Bing is giving me major love. I've only done traditional back linking, made sure all of my pages were W3 validated and wrote a handful of articles, bookmarked and pinged. From what I hear Bing is really high on getting your coding right. That's the first issue I would look at if I were you. If all the coding is right then I have no clue. The basic SEO strategy should get you ranked higher. My site is competing with millions of other sites for all of my keywords. I think for each keyword there are at least 35 million other sites. I'm not on page one for all of them yet but steadily getting there after only 2 months of SEO efforts.

I also have many sites on the first page of google yahoo and bing but only recently have I noticed some of my keywords leaving the first page of bing and yahoo but still stay strong in google -

As far as i am aware my coding is fine - only a few bug fixes for IE issues wich is a small finx in the css coding but this has been this way for some time.

One of my sites has dropped from page 1 slot 4 in yahoo to the top of page 2 for a keyword that has the competition levels in the 60 millions. It slowly dropped, it wasnt like an overnight thing.

This is why im a little eager to do something which will bring up my rankings in yahoo and bing - I spent some time comparing rankings from google and yahoo and noticed that many sites rank differently indeed -

So I would be very interested from people who have experience in working on yahoo and bing rankings

Probably bing n yahoo just want to attract the websites who cant make it to the 1st page of google over to them.

for the lucky websites who are 1st in bing and yahoo, they will naturally be telling their friends to use yahoo or bing.

I noticed the largest boost in my Yahoo and Bing rankings when I started to submit around 18 articles to 3 different websites and bookmarked them on around 10 sites. My rankings jumped fairly large. Some of my key words weren't ranked at all and them boom they are on the first or second pages.

Hmm, I doubt that very much - Yahoo has a certain algorithm to calculate and process its rankings - I wouldnt b surprised if much detail is taken from google but there ranking calculations are certainly different

Thats a good finding- I will try article marketing and see how it helps my rankings in yahoo and bing - I will also try blog comments and forum postings to see what kind of affects it has. -

If you are doing good at google you are on the way! dont forget about the meta data, keyword density and all such onpage factors that are important also.

Several of my sites are number 1 or on the first page of bing and yahoo. I found the secret to SERP and it's helped my ranking tremendously. Type in Parking Lessons on bing or yahoo and you will see my site is #1. Type in MLM Marketing in bing and yahoo and you will see my site is #5 and #4. Try webtalk radio and you will see my site in the the #2 and #3 position. It's not hard to get these ranks, you just need to bingitbaby!

Thanks for your input guys - My sites have been ranking on the first page of google for sometime now and still climb. I also rank on the first page of bing and yahoo even page one slot 1 for certain keywords such as cheap jvc lcd tv

However these keywords are not what I class as highly competitive keywords. Take a look you will see 2 sites of mine

buycheaplcdtvs.co.uk
ravsappliances.com

Im working more on keywords such as

cheap lcd tv
32 inch lcd tv
42 inch lcd tv
37 inch lcd tv
26 inch lcd tv
cheap camcorders

I can be found on the first page of google for all of these keywords and many more. you can even add cheap and buy in front of them all and I am on the first page still.

It was the same for yahoo and bing however while rankings remain strong in google they have slowly dropped in yahoo and bing.

I used to think the same thing before - concentrate on google - yahoo and bing will follow - this was certainly the case but now its not.

I am trying to better my rankings in yahoo and bing and am looking for certain aspects which they weigh or pay more attention to then google.

I have found it very easy to rank on google - yahoo and bing also however I am trying to focus on points and the difference between the search engines focus and ranking factors.

Bing is very different to do SEO for. What you have done for Google will most likely cause Bing to not even pick up your keywords. I have been able to now get sites listed in the top 5 of Bing for just about any keyword in about 10 days or less. But it tooks months of digging and learning all I could about Bing.

Just remember that Bing is very different in a lot of ways.
