Say, I have a website that I would like to get ranked, and I create a secondary site and link back to my primary site, will google see this as a backlink and a vote? Or will they be able to see it is from the same webmaster?

I have no trouble linking my domains to each other but I do keep them as one-way links and on different IP addresses. May well work on same IP - hopefully someone with experience of testing this will post here.

If your site is relevant to your niche this will help both sites, this is basically a start of a link wheel. So if you then have a blogger blog, wordpress, squidoo lens and a hubpage and they are all relevant with the same keyword or a relevant keyword which ever site you link them to will have the most authority but if you link them all to gether by pointing one link to your main money site and have another link on each site linking to one another you will have a whole network of authority sites.

This is part of Interlinking Exchange (yes, that is my word) and I have been doing it for years. With sub-domain names and new domains. It does count as a backlink and will not hurt you one bit, even if your IP is the same. James |

If you own your own domains then you use it for the PR reason. You have to have the domains on different IP address ( I like to be on the save side ) the sites also should be relevent, other wise your just wasting your time.

How do I use a different IP adress? And isn't this considered blue fart. The moderators at the Vodahost forum certainly seem to think so

I link all of my relevant sites to each other. I never even had a thought that Google would frown on it. Why would they have a problem if the sites are related in some way? (rhetorical question)

I find it helps linking my sites together. If you link a bunch of sites together that have the same content, yes that might hurt you, but as long as the sites have different content its good.

Most of my sites are on the same IP addresses. Links between sites certainly seem to help but external links seem better. However, this is just my experience - no real evidence.

| They see it as manipulating their algorithm. You are essentially voting for your own site, when you think about it.

I would be careful back-linking from one site I own to another. You never know with google. They might see it as blue fart
