I am just wondering if anyone understands the dynamics of this. I had an article accepted on EzineArticles this morning and within a matter of an hour, or so, it was already ranking #3 in Google! Now, there are NO links to the article, since it just went live. How is this kind of ranking being accomplished so quickly? Is it just because they have new pages of content being posted all day that Google crawls them constantly and immediately gives them high rankings? I took a second to look at how Google ranks other sites in exactly the same way (mostly news sites etc.). Is it because of their high PR to begin with, or what? It amazes me that they are able to accomplish something that we would all die to be able to do with our own sites. Just wondering if anyone has any insights on to how it works? |

You're right, it's pretty much down to their authority as a whole site, so any well-optimised content without too much competition will rank well as a page on their site. I don't know if they ping new articles as well, helping the indexing process?

Well, that's really depend on your competition. If you are facing a high competition, it won't happened. Ezinearticles itself is already very popular with Google and it's subdomain (Your article url) will get spider literally within minutes of approval. Nevertheless, congratulation for that |

Yeah, there has to be a weak competition otherwise everybody would work only with ezine, it is powerful, but you cant take down "make money" with just an article. Ezine is of course powerful, but with a high competion keyword you have to do heavy link building to reach high position in google.

I've also found that too. It generally happens firstly becuase of EZA's authority and secondly your keyword choice was probably a long tailed keyword. Well done and enjoy the high ranking for a few weeks...lol |

Could it be that it was a new article and still on the high PR homepage when it was spidered?

This also works on low ranking blog sites. I've posted a blog about some key events that I had inside knowledge to using a few big company names. Having the right combination of the different company names made my blog pop up in #2 on the first page. No one else had ever written anything about these 3 companies together so that's why I ranked so high within the first 5 minutes.

Hi FlyinPianoMan, While you may have not created any links to your article, EZA automatically creates links and automatically pings the new page. That combined with QDF (Freshness Factor) will push you to the top of SERPS pretty quickly but you should consider it temporary and will likely disappear just as quickly. |

If you start building links to it, you could expect it to stay on the first page.
