Fastest Ranking 2.0 Sites With Little to No Advertising

I have been experimenting with Web 2.0 sites lately and have found that 2.0 sites rank rank pretty high pretty fast.

Which 2.0 sites rank quickly but have little advertising to distract users? Can someone give some advice beyond what I have learned below?

EzineArticles - ranks fast and high but limiting links to resource box really cuts the click-thru rate way down.

ArticlesBase - ranks fast and high and can put my links in the body of the article - still a lot of outbound links to distract though. But my favorite so far.

HubPAges / Squidoo / Associated Content / Zimbio - ranks well but way too many ads everywhere. Is there a way to control the layout like you can on wordpress themes and blogger (i.e. eliminate ads)?

Wordpress - can't promote or will be closed down.

Blogger - best choice as I can control the layout, but I can't get them to rank quickly at all.

In my experience for longtail keywords scribd.com, slideshare.com, livejournal.com, tumbl.com can rank pretty fast on the first page.

But since most of them they live off advertisements, you won't find a lot that don't have so many "distractions".
