Hi,
How do I get massive amounts of content for websites with AdSense on them? That is, without violating copyrights, writing 100 articles a day or paying $500 a day to have it done. Is it possible to create a website with hundreds of pages, without violating copyrights and without paying a fortune for it? Thanks. Regards, Thomas |

This is a broad question but I will try...
How do I get massive amounts of content for websites with AdSense on them? I don't understand... There is no such thing as ready-made-content with adsense.. That is, without violating copyrights, writing 100 articles a day or paying $500 a day to have it done. You can outsource writing for $2/article Is it possible to create a website with hundreds of pages, without violating copyrights and without paying a fortune for it? If you don't want to pay then do it yourself.. simple. |

While you can easily get articles written for you at $7 a pop, I find it much better to pay $20 a pop for quality articles. If you choose your niche correctly and have the right monetization structure in place, a $20 article will pay for itself in 2-3 months and keep earning you profit afterward. I don't understand why people are so cheap when it comes to content. Write something good and you WILL get more traffic. Quality article writing is a much smarter SEO approach in the long-term.

You can use PLR, preferably re-written quite a bit, which you should be able to find a ton for free, depending on the niches. Don't overlook free PLR ebooks or reports, either, as these can easily be broken down into articles for your site. Add some public domain images to dress it up a bit.
You can write yourself. Obviously, this will take a lot of effort and time but your sites will build up if you're consistent. You can outsource, sometimes really cheaply, however make sure that you get some decent output or why bother? You could always use all three methods at the same time which will help you achieve the massive content you want without either doing all the work or spending a fortune. Tina |

I have to second paying for quality articles. If they're well written, they will spread. If you pay for cheap service, you'll get garbage articles which are worthless.

$500 is not a small sum, so my next comment is not entirely
directed to you. But the free mentality is what drives a lot of people to drink. They want quality and quantity, as well as paying customers, but don't want to pay themselves. $500 for 100 quality articles is a fantastic price. There are many warriors who would take that challenge. I have used a warrior myself. Paid about $20 for 1 article. The very next day, someone bought a $100 ad on the site with the article. Not a bad return. Granted, $500 is not a small sum. But how much do you want to make? How about paying $50 for 10 articles? Paul |

There's *tons* of public domain content. You could product thousands upon thousands of pages of content without violating any copyrights or paying anything more than the cost to buy, scan, and OCR it.

I have hired contract article writers at Elance before, but wasnt totally happy. Not horrible, but not great either, I think I paid $12 for 400 words each (from a native North American English speaker). I'd appreciate it if anyone would recommend any fellow warriors who write on contract, and any other good places to find reliable writers.

Articles that are posted on article directories are available for free. As long as you keep the signature blocks, you can use any of them that you want.
For a great strategy using them, check out Keith Kogane's posting. You could also do a combination of articles from the directories, plus start writing your own version of the crappy articles so that eventually you'll have a great combination of original and high-quality articles. |

Hi,
It's not that I'm not willing to pay for articles, I've done that on many occassions. If I want to create a site with 1,000 articles and it costs me $5,000, then I have to make at least the same in AdSense, which is a whole different chapter. So, the reason for my question was not to get things for free but to make a sound business. Sonomacats, thanks. Would you send me the post you are talking about. Thanks and have a great weekend. Find a public domain book or multiple books and break each chapter down into articles or multiple articles to use as content for your Adsense site. Depending on the niche it should not be very difficult to fill your site with hundreds of pages of content from one or two PD books.

The best source of PD I've seen is ManyBooks.net - Free eBooks for your PDA, iPhone, or eBook Reader . But I'm not exactly sure how people use PD products. You can give them away, sell them and, yes, publish them on your websites. But unless the SE's rank them high, are not they worthless on your websites? Of course, if you simply want to supply good content to your already existing visitor base, have at it. But, again, these books are mostly over 80 years old and many of them are filled with 1800's reference that are Greek to today's readers. So, I would appreciate some input on how people here use PD content. |

For anybody in the know, there was a massive source of web content, gigs and gigs, that will soon be de-indexed. Im sure the BlueFart boys have been on it for the past few months. Area51? Hollywood? CapitolHill? Maybe the oldies will remember. Amazing how $3.5 billion can just be erased like that.

Some people simply translate content back and forth. However, often the readability is not great. Depends on what is most important to you.

Well, I can vouch for the use of public domain content, for anything you can need.
Easy. Profitable. Free. Take a look at these gems: http://onlinebooks.library.upenn.edu/ http://www.absolute1.net/free_self-help_books_online.html http://ibiblio.org/ http://www.readprint.com/ http://www.zerotime.com/lostbook/ http://psychclassics.yorku.ca/index.htm http://www.ancienttexts.org/library/index.html http://www.library.utoronto.ca/utel/ http://www.bookrags.com/ http://www.henriettesherbal.com/ ... There are thousands more, (and many secret ones), and you can do with them anything you can think of: - Republish the works "As-Is" through POD at Amazon - Use the content for articles and blog posts (autoblogging) - Make simple slide-videos - Presell your other products - Give them away for list building - Setup a membership site with the content etc... The only limit is your own imagination, believe me. My advice? Forget PLR and get into the Public Domain (free-content-forever) database. : ) |

By the way, is there a way to check that a work found on one of those sites are in fact public domain?
It would be a bit uncool having spent hours using the content and then discovering that it's copyrighted. Thanks. Regards, Thomas |

Yes, of course, if itīs PD you can do anything you want with that content. Just to be clear, these are the most common PD rules on the USA: Copyright Term and the Public Domain in the United States To recap: 1. Any work published on US before 1923 is clearly in the Public Domain. This alone will give you free access and reprint rights to millions upon millions of bestselling content, ready to monetize in any way you want. That includes any book, text, article, photograph, clipart, graphics, artwork, audio, music track, music sheet, script, plays, videos, movies, etc... 2. Any work published between 1923 and 1963 is in the Public Domain IF the copyright is not renewed in its 28th year after publication. And, believe it or not, 93% (!!) of those works were never renewed. So again, there you have millions and millions of free-for-the-taking ready-made bestselling products for you to use in any way you want. That includes also any book, text, article, photograph, clipart, graphics, artwork, audio, music track, music sheet, script, plays, videos, movies, etc... Check this link for searches on 1923-1963 works: FAQ: How To Find Out Whether a Copyright Was Renewed? I hope this helps : )

Well, for works published outside the US, this is the criteria to follow: 1. Any work published prior to July 1, 1909, is in the Public Domain. 2. Works published after July 1, 1909 until 1923, can be in the Public Domain (if registered under US Compliances). 3. From 1923-1977, same as in its home country (= if they are in the PD there, they are in the PD in the US). Usually (outside US), the Copyright of a work is measured by the date of authourīs death + 50/70 years: List of countries' copyright length - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia That will give you hundreds of millions of Public Domain works for Resell, Re-publish, Re-use... Free Content Forever... so to speak. Most PD publishers and entrepreneurs are using just USA published works, but Foreign works are a true goldmine, used by very few. With the ease of todayīs POD Publishing, anyone can re-publish all-time bestsellers, and keep 100% of the profits. Good business common-sense. So itīs worth to check it out. ; )

For instance, I have set up "set and forget blogs" using only content that I have obtained from public domain works, some of the content I used came from old books but the topics are revelent today and In most cases I do not have to change up any of the content of the PD work I used. I basically break each chapter up(depending on the size) and used as individual post on my blog. In most cases I'm able to have a blog set up with enough content to last for quite some time(depends on the niche and the pd work I'm using), in about two hours or less. I throw in some adsense ads and an affiliate product or two, drive traffic to the site in various ways and move on to my next project. You have to open your mind up to the fact that public domain is not only about old books. The US government, for example, produces reports quite often on thousands of topics. You can take these reports(in most cases) and use as content to create an adsense site or anything else you can think of that will ultimatley result in a profit. I have a series of reports, obtained from the US Government, that I sell as digital downloads on various sites. These reports have been consistent sellers for me earning me a nice passive income, and a few were published just last year. The same rules apply with public domain as with anything else when it comes to finding a niche. Do you market research. But yes, using public domain works can be profitable...sometimes you have to think outside of the box.

Do your home work, The law changed in 1973!!!!!!!!!!!! Renewal is no longer needed (nor is it possible for 28 yr extensions as they have not existed since 1973). for works previous to 1963, the copyright period was automatically extended to 95 years. Unless a work expired before 1963 AND was NOT renewed. All creations after 1963 to 1978 are automatically 95 years. All creations after 1978 are 70 years AFTER the owner's death. To sue a registration has to be filed, but can be done at anytime before the suit, even after the infringement. Look it up.

Mmmmh... are you really sure? I think you are mixing things here ![]() I make a (good) living by doing my homework about copyright for works published between 1923-1963. I work with copyright lawyers every week. Please, take a look at this Cornell Copyright table, (from Copyright Information Center): Copyright Term and the Public Domain in the United States So this is clearly how the copyright law is set: - In the US, books published before 1964 had to get their copyrights renewed at the Library of Congress Copyright Office in their 28th year, or they'd fall into the public domain. Period : ) And the Copyright Office itself estimates that ONLY around 13% of works published in US during that period were renewed (!?)... So roughly 87% of ALL the works published between 1923 and 1963 are in the Public Domain... We are talking about millions and millions of books, images, drawings, pictures, graphics, movies, videos, sounds, music... that are FREE for the taking, forever. Killer content, free to use, forever. Check this one out: http://www.librarycopyright.net/digitalslider/ Thatīs why we need to check copyright renewals for works published between 1923-1963, to know if they are indeed in the public domain, so we can use it freely. ; )

I have ever used a site called blogprofitz which runs a PLR membership service called ContentClub. It currently contains over 15,000 unique articles with more being added all the time, and it can post great keyword targeted content to your blogs. Of course you have to pay to join as member but the cost varies depending on the no. of blogs you have. Not sure if this is suitable but you could check it up.
