I Thought Adsense Arbitrage Was Dead?

I've noticed more and more adwords advertisers running adsense on their landing pages.

I thought the guru's said that adsense arbitrage was over and DEAD!

How are some adwords advertisers still pulling this off?

I would give the keyword I used but I'm not trying to get anyone in trouble.....

I have no idea if it's doable, but how about content network in some cheap countries to adsense in high paying niches? Of course the theme would have to be very well optimized. I know I have run some campaigns outside the US and content network clicks are very cheap.

Or maybe the advertisers are monetizing with more than adsense and building lists? I'd like to get others opinion on this too.

Hi Jim,

The word Arbitrage implies that you can buy traffic cheaper than you can resell it. There was a trend where folks would advertise on a keyword, buying cheap clicks and create a landing page that didn't allow you to do much of anything else except click an AdSense ad. Google cracked down on that because visitors were being locked into a navigation loop that caused them to click ads in frustration just trying to find useful information, only to find themselves on yet another page with nothing but ads.

Now you must include useful information that is relevant to the the Adwords ad, and you are not permitted to display your ads as if they are navigation links. This has effectively killed the trend of arbitrage. There is no restriction on placing AdSense on your landing page as long as you are following all guidelines and policies. In fact, the AdSense website suggests AdWords as a method to generate traffic to your website.

It might not be outright forbidden or dead, but it is on life-support.
If you just "happen" to have adsense on a page that sells something,
and those ads just "happen" to be clicked on, there probably is no
problem.

The thing is relying on those clicks for money. You could not get
enough visitors, with a low enough cost, to justify tossing an
adsense page up on adwords. Not even close. And I think adwords
requires a higher standard than adsense. So, your adsense page
optimized for adsense probably fails on the adwords test. It would
be banned, most likely.

Just not cost effective or worth the hassle.
