It has been the experience of some that PPC traffic converts better.
It's great to get high organic rankings but they don't usually come easy. PPC is a fast way to get in it is my perception that those who are good at it practically don't bother with SEO. PPC is just too easy to get traffic once you know what you're doing and have winners ... |

Why turn down huge profits? I can pick 2000 different keywords and be on the first page of Google for every one of them today. Do you have a method that can compete with that kind of instant, highly targeted and profitable traffic?

I agree, statements like that come from people who don't have the experience to know what they're talking about.
It's almost as if they can't/won't do PPC for some reason and so they want to believe that free traffic is all around better because they want it to be so. When a PPC campaign works, it's awesome. |

In my opinion, PPC is the best form of traffic because it can literally change your business' fate overnight and it enables to quickly test a market out literally in just days. (Articles take weeks and SEO takes even longer some times)
PPC also allows geo-targeting, which is another great plus. Most successful internet marketers (who are making millions) know how to game PPC, and I don't think it's fair to say PPC sucks. Okay fine. Maybe Google Slap sucks, but if you obey the rules, you should be fine. |

I actually don't see the problem of doing both. If you do both then if one fails you've not lost all your traffic. But getting them spot on is the thing.

We are currently doing testing for 3 types of traffic generation methods (bum marketing, SEO and PPC) and so far, PPC and bum marketing has impress us with the awesome ROI.
@mrdunn123 - yeah true. Sometimes Google is mean though. |

Is your time writing articles and such worth nothing? PPC is pretty difficult to master at first, but it is quick and efficient. I would do a combination of traffic strategies. | |

Thats silly – I used to work at Google in The AdWords department, now I work for myself and I spend hundreds of dolars on advertising each day. if you are driving traffic to your site with the idea of making money from this traffic then ADWORDS can be very beneficial. I'm not saying its better than free traffic, I'm not saying its worse either. If you know your numbers and do things properly than you will know that adwords can supercharge the amount of money you make.
The key is to actually research the form of traffic tool you are going to use i.e it WOULD be a bad idea to invest money in PPC before taking the time to learn how to use it correctly. A few rules I live by when using PPC 1) make sure that you install google analytics on the site you are driving traffic too 2) Use conversion tracking, analytic goals or both to monitor which keywords drive high quality traffic. ELIMINATE the non converting keywords 3) 1 keyword, 1 ad. Its very simple - google rewards relevancy and if you use one keyword per ad you will get higher click through rate, better quality score and cheaper cost per click. 4) Continually optimize your campaign. Optimize to increase CTR, optimize to increase ROI! Making AdWords profitable IS possible … just put in the work. |
