Index Question -- HELP!

Hi everyone,

currently i have set up my website and get ready to do some article marketing and social bookmarking for bringing in traffic. however, i have some confusion as i have read lots of different resources that some will tell us to first get indexed by google first and then do the article marketing and social bookmarking... and in contrast, some just ask us post our website in the social bookmarking right away!! What should I do first?

please kindly instruct!! thanks!!!!

It's just normal for one to be overloaded with SEO information especially if one is new in this field. You have to screen the info that you learn and apply the best techniques regarding SEO of your website.

Regarding your question, it depends in what you value first: traffic or indexed pages? However, they go hand in hand with each other. The more indexed pages that your website has, the more chance people will find your site in search engines. On the other hand, indexed pages wouldn't do well without good traffic leading to your site, traffic here means income. So you need to optimized each website pages to bring in more traffic. Article marketing and social bookmarking are just two of some SEO techniques out there.

I suggest that you focus first in getting your site pages indexed first then do some SEO after. Traffic will come eventually to your site.

building SEO website will drive you flood of free targeted traffic for long time while social bookmarks will also drive you traffic but not always for long period

Yeah, i read many information on IM and people highly suggest article marketing for building backlinks as a start.. anyways.. thanks for your info!!

Social bookmarking helps your site get index. Here are other methods as well:

1. Search Engine Submissions
2. Ping your site
3. Create a sitemap - it helps your sub-pages get index.
