It's been a week or two since I did a keyword check for my sites across all the major search engines, but I thought I'd have a look a few mins ago with the SEO Book rank checker. I keep a track on my big G rankings anyway, so the results there were no surprise but upon checking Bing I certainly got one. My main site, and the focus of most of my SEO work is sitting at number 6, and another site that I've had up a month or so is sitting at number 1 out of 132,000,000 results With the first one, it's at 59 on Google, and I have always known the top 10 is a tough nut to crack but I've made very good progress since putting the site up a couple of months ago. I just checked my stats for both sites and they have both had traffic from Bing today for their respective keywords. I haven't really noticed hits from this source before, so it seems like my sites have only very recently occupied these positions, maybe even in the last day or two ![]() Some questions - how much traffic does Bing get compared to Google and Yahoo? Also, how does their algorithm differ? I'm obviously doing stuff right, but I would really love those spots in Google too Maybe if I can understand the differences, I can tweak and get the big G rankings I crave for my main site.

BING bring less traffic but in my experince, the traffic converts better. I am not sure why though.

How does BING work? Can you explain it further and in a more simple way.

From looking at my stats for both the sites I mentioned, it seems one of them was indexed on Thursday, the other Saturday. It's just been a little amount of traffic so far, but I'm happy that my efforts have been enough to rank highly in one of the search engines. I just hope it's a sign of things to come with Google and Yahoo |

I've noticed that Bing and Yahoo are very close in results for my keywords. Google is way different and harder to rank for.

I am #1 on Google and Yahoo for my terms and can't be found anywhere on Bing on the first 3 pages! Not sure why. I have a page rank 5 and 101,000 on Alexa. Go figure!

If you guys are using the rank checker tool from SEO book you are on Bing but you will have to search for your site manually. Bing is not showing up on my tool but when I do a search for my keywords then I can find my site.

![]() When I check manually, I can't find them either - at least not in the top 100. I'm hoping this is a dance similar to what happens in Google. | |

I don't know much about any dance unless it's benefiting my site. The only moving that I see is only by a few ranks but usually for the positive. I've seen in bounce down only a few placements but not by a lot like you're describing.

I had a similar surprise, I checked one of my websites and it ranked 4 for a keyword with 12 million competeting pages I should of taken a close look at stat counter to see where the extra traffic was coming from |
