Mass submit 1 article or spin it and submit all?

I created an article with unique content focused on a keyword. My profile includes a link to my website.

In order to help my website rank in the search engines, which of the following hypothetical scenarios is better?

1) 1 unique article submitted to 50 article directories.

2) 50 spun articles. All 50 are submitted to 50 article directories (50 x 50). If this is best, what percentage different must each article be from each other?

3) 50 spun articles. Spin 1 goes to directory 1; spin 2 goes to directory 2 and so on so that each directory receives a unique article. If this is best, is there software that will do this? What is it?

You probably only need to submit to the top 5-10 article directories to be honest. If this is the case then Id say write unique articles.

If you want to submit to all 50 and web2.0 properties such as hubpages and squidoo etc then it may be worth respinning it.

If you do respin it then don't rely on any software as in my experience it's pretty useless. The only decent tool to use is MS Word where you can control the quality of the content. It's very simple to churn out spun articles but you want them to be junk that doesn't make sense. Even the art of article spinning is a science. Get it right and it will work wonders, get it wrong and it won't make much difference. Be prepared to have people from different schools of thought on this.

If you do spin the article then it's always a good idea to have as many synonyms as possible or at least 3-5 variations and try to change at least 90% of the content. It does take time but it will save you time in the long-term.

I used to do some article spinning in the past but now prefer to write individual articles.

Spinning article is not an effective way to gain good link juice; Having said that, it all depends on how "unique" you can make your article!

If you have some good software like SENuke to spin your article very unique, it reads different but still with the same meaning, Google will only hash the article into a value and compare it between articles, if the value different is big enough, they will recognize your link as unique, else you are just wasting your time.

If your article is not unique enough, you might end up with 10 articles, instead of 50. (even if you spin 50 sets!)
