Ok I have my site which is just over a year old and I notice since sunday that my ranking have dropped for really badly. Up until february, I had about 16 000 backlinks according to yahoo site explorer and since then I had been neglecting the site. No new content or any backlinking and I was still getting about 500visitors daily. Now 3 weeks ago I decided to revive the site and add fresh content and did linkbuilding to the fresh content....I added around 30 new post and was doing internal linking as well as using the packets from some members here and submitting articles to directories with backlinks to this site. I then started ranking for some of these keywords well and since sunday my traffic has almost dried up...I was getting over 700 and now down to about 100 daily and even some my old content I havent touched has also been affected. When I check my site its still indexed and even tying its unique name I am coming on page 3 for site name. I did exprience something like this from feb to jun and did do anything until the site started getting the rankings back, I thought this was explained partly because site was new... I have read about google dance and am really not sure if thats whats happening and if I should continue backlinking? |

Yep...same here, it just happened this Monday, so google must have reindexed and caused the google dance. I have been building backlinks like crazy for some of my sites and on one I went down 3 pages in the SERPS! This happens to me whenever I build a backlinks, but I usually bounce back and better. It still causes my heart rate to drop and me to panic! I never knew my self-esteem was so closely related to the Google SERPs. ![]() I wouldn't worry about it for now. You'll be back in a few days-weeks. I want Google caffeine to get out of beta...I rank incredibly for all my terms there! |

Seems Google loves to play hard on October and November, at least last year and now this year, major changes happening. I don't have a magic answer for your problem, other than keep on working. Fernando |

![]() Seriously I had a few keywords in top 10 and all were in top 100 when i made the report on 22 October now today I have run another report and the best position I have is 117 and to not being in the serps at all. I have another site not ralated to this one and on a diff IP, it is a very established site and I have 2 posts I have been building backlinks too and they were on page 1 for different terms, now I notice those too have dissapeared too but instead other post with similar content (not duplicate) are beginning to rank for the same terms even and ven same position though I have not done and backlinking to these posts ranking now. j | |
