Default Backlink to home page vs Inner Pages

I have purchased a package of 3,000 backlinks to be created as a mix of articles, blog posts, social bookmarking, press releases etc and wanted to know if I should

  1. Send all these to my home page for this campaign
  2. Send to my home page for this months campaign and then to a separate specific categorized page for each keyword being targeted on the next campaign?
  3. Only send to specific categorized pages for each keyword

create some keyword targeted inner pages and send you traffic to the inner pages using the keyword targeted anchor text

Personally I'd mix them up if you can, hopefully not a brand new site as I think that's too many for a new domain. At least in my experience - when I've put that many links to a new site it rarely works but that might just be me

It's all about looking natural and mixing up the target pages and anchor text -I'd put majority to your home page but spread the rest round inner pages with different anchors. Helps you get a feel for competition as well for keywords in your chosen niche.

As the Expert Warriors would suggest. go to the inner page.

I keep hearing mixed reviews. Why would you link to inner pages as opposed to Main page?

You want to spread your backlinks throughout your entire site so that every page can rank well, not just your home page.

Also 3000 backlinks... thats a heck of a lot of links to be built at one time. Like someone said, spread these out.. and make sure they are quality.

I'd rather have 50 very high quality backlinks than 3000 extremely low quality and spammy links pointing to my site (which might do more harm than good).

Send 50% to your homepage to build some authority and then the rest to the inner pages. It obviously depends on how many pages you also intend on having in the site.

I also agree with the warriors, 3,000 is a serious amount of backlinks, just ensure you take things slowly and don't get too excited...lol, otherwise you may get a very hard slap from G.

Good luck

As long as 20% ~ 30% of the links is inner page, I think it is on the "safe" side, anyone can confirm that?

Placing a single link IN Context is better than the usual "website by aaaaa.com" type of link.

@Dotslash - The domain is around 4 months old and has about 100 links at the moment so still new I guess

======================
@TimScott - From a supplier on Elance. It is made up of the following structure which I think it quite a good mix

1. 2150 1 Way Theme Links - links built manually by publishing 40 Original Articles on 150 article sites (different ones). These all have different C ClassIP Addresses

2. 225 One Way Theme Links – Also built by manually publishing 10 Reviews for the site using 5 different accounts on 100 Social Bookmarking sites, where 90% of all these sites have a PR 2 ranging to 8, all with different C classes IP Addresses

3. 625 1 Way Theme Links – these too are built manually by publishing 15 Press Release on 20 Press Release sites. Again these have different C Class IP's

======================
@ RebeccaL - Yes it is a lot of links, although it is done over 12 weeks which is about 1,000 per month... not too bad then right

======================

It seems like people have mixed reviews, so I think what I will do is link the majority of the time to the home page but run a few smaller campaigns linking to inner pages where there is a cross linking going on between the home page and other keyword specific keywords to create a cross link to a certain degree.

The linking should be in web pages rather than to the home page.

Send the most relevant link to the most relevant web page.

On a different note, would using the link building package I mentioned above (maybe around 1,000 per month instead of 3,000) continue to improve rankings even though the links being built might be on the same servers/IP's etc?

Because Google ranks web pages, not web sites.

Build your links to whatever page you want to rank well for.

Every page on every one of my sites is optimised for a keyword that I want to rank for, therefore I build backlinks to every page.
