I often hear people advise to link to authority sites.
Is it important to do or is it only a myth? Thanks. |

Doesn't hurt - but it's better to have them link to you.

The search engines love links, they would be lost without them. It would be a positive thing to give some sort of rank to sites that show a willingness to link out to other sites. As for Authoritive sites, I~m not so sure. If you think about it, if you linked to new unindexed sites G/B and Y would love you more for giving them fresh food.

as a P.S
Some product sites and companes have a "Read what other say about X" type of page. Linking to the product site sometimes does get you a link back. I dont mean writing a post on the new "Panasonic Flat screen" will get you a link from panasonic, but if your website is about a niche maybe "panasonic flat screen antistatic screen cleaners" then the your in withat a chance. |
