from my experiance you wont get far by posting things like this on this forum as the members will see it as a question you should no the answer too, I posted some of these types of questions and got nothing, mayeb one or two kind people came to my aid.
I would say that you should use EVERY option available and get links from EVERYWHERE. I am in the thinking that once you have 1,2,3 links on a site there isnt too much benefit of adding many more. I would add your links to as many places as you possibly can. I have created a list of all the best article direcotrys, social bookmarking sites, and other sites that are worth you adding your link too, ill pm it to you if you like. It has been built through ALLOT of research into the best places to add links. Also there are allot of very good ebooks on here and in the war room that will show you some great techniques for building quality backlinks to your site. I would suggest you use every option in your path. Hope this helps ![]() Mark |

I agree that all backlinks are important and it is good to spread them around in different places with different keywords and no keywords too. I believe that the place you post your link that matches your niche the closest is worth more then a link that comes from a diet site when your niche is dog training.

Anyway yes. All backlinks are of value. If you can put your keywords as anchor text then its best but I wouldn't turn dwon any "vote" from another site in the PR game. Just make sure they are high PR sites to get the most bang for your buck. I don't even fool around with anything under a PR3. theres just too many high backlinks if you know how and where to look.

I try not too go to heavy on directories myself. Be careful that you aren't linking from a whole lot of link farms. Just a waste compared to the productive backlinks available. No, thats not a blanket put down of all directory sites. Some are pretty good.

The answer is all links are worth the most, because you need a diverse, across the board mix of links for a "natural" link profile. Just dont go heavy on any one type, and prioritise quality over quantity.

It's not a matter of which one is more important or whether there IS one that's more important, but that you should be utilizing all of them.
Think of it this way, you have to move 3 tons of bricks and you HAVE to move all of it down the street in 3 days. You have a truck, a trailor, a car and a wagon. If you can get all of it there in 3 days, you'll get say $1,000,000. And you have 10 people helping you. Do you think you're going to drive just the truck and trailor the entire time? Of course not, you'd use every means possible even if it meant putting it into a wagon. It might not be as effective as a truck or a car, but every little bit helps. |

You are looking at it wrong. What matters is the authority, relevancy, and quality of the site you want to link from and will the link be used. The classification of the site is not relevant.

High pr contextual links with the appropriate anchor text, placed on a niche related website, in a non spammy enviroment, are pretty high value.
Other than that... CNN frontpage? |

I second that and add that the page that you get the link from will be relevant to the link destination.

If you mix up all and build backlinks slowly that's the best way. Neither only Profiles will help nor only directory submission. Mix up and get backlinks from relevant pages.
Generally 50 Relevant and Quality Backlinks helps more than 2000 irrelevant and low quality backlinks. |

why do people keep talking about getting high pr links
it is impossible without paying for them or getting in with someone that owns a network of blogs and getting listed in the list of links the only other way is blog commenting and all the high pr ones are spammed to death and you can't use the anchor text you want so they are pretty much a waste of time |

I can confirm that a good mix is the right choice but I would give much more weight to links coming from websites in your domain where the page hosting the link has also got many related keywords.
To this end I have seen much more benefits coming from links in articles on blogs on subjects related to yours with PR>3. Get in touch with bloggers or webmasters of such websites and ask them to write an article for them with 1 or 2 links to your pages. Basically, content exchanged for links is what is more effective, but time consuming unfortunately. |

I have found that often google do not index links placed in comments to blogs, even more when there are many comments. I think a key prerequisite is that the blog comments are moderated so that only high quality comments will be accepted.

As an article marketing guy, I bet you can guess my answer.
But the answer is that you should have links everywhere your potential clients are looking to find you. Very few link directories offer any real value to you. Many article directories fall into the same trap. The deal is that for your link to be worthwhile to you, it must meet one of two criteria: 1. It must be on a page where people actually go to find stuff. 2. It must be on a page that Google or the other search engines value as a reliable source of information. If no humans will see your link and the search engines ignore that link, then your effort will have been wasted. So, you will want to get your link on a page that someone will see or the search engines will value. Article marketing when done correctly helps you achieve this, but you will find little value from most of the article directories. Like I said, article directories must either be fully archived by the search engines, or people must find your article in the directory. A lot of article directories are plagued by the fact that the only people using them are people submitting articles. So it is important to try to give your articles an audience outside of the article directory, where your potential clients actually go to pick up information. This is why quality content is most useful in article marketing. Sure, the cheap article spinners can give you a few links, but if those links do not meet the two criteria of human visitors or search engine recognition, then those links are worthless to you. Pure link counts only serve to tease your ego. I don't consider an article valuable until it can put money in my pocket. So I focus on getting my articles to publishers who will use the content - preferably publishers that have lots of loyal visitors and possibly even serious recognition from the search engines. If the article delivers either humans or search engines, then your article will have paid for its creation. If the article delivers neither, you will have wasted your money, time and efforts. So lead with great content, and seek publication on websites that cater to your target audience, especially when some of those websites are authority websites that your target audience appreciates and respects. Links is one thing, but links that put money in your pocket should always be the goal. |

Agreed. It's even more powerful if you can gain actual success on these sites. For example, after landing hundreds of articles on the home page of a site like Propeller, these articles normally will end up on the 1st or 2nd page of Google. That is supplemented with the fact they had no prior marketing done to them. See my signature for more details.
