I've been using an automatic article submitter software for several months ( 3months) and I noticed that not even one of these articles that I submitted to are even index by google. I was able to figure this out because when I check my backlinks (domain-pop and yahoo site explorer), it does not show any backlinks from those article directories...the only backlinks showing from article directories are the ones that I submitted manually (ezines, article base, goarticles, buzzle, amazines, article alley and article snatch)...I also noticed that the ones that get indexed fast are the comments I left in several blogs and websites.... Any thoughts on this? Did I just waste my money buying an automatic article submitter or maybe I should give it more for them to get indexed. |

Here's the thing, you need to look in your Google webmaster tools and see how many websites really are linking back to you. That's the most accurate way of really knowing, otherwise, it's just speculation and guessing. If you see that these sites are not indexed THERE, then yeah, you're probably wasting your money after 3 months of it. |

oh yes definitely - but remember that some articles in some sites will take too long to index.but some of them index very fast.It is better to submit articles to lots of directories and just forget it.It will take months for all the articles to get indexed. But these links definitely help - remember that you are getting link from lots of root domains. So it definitely helps. But it takes hell lot of time too.Instead of article submissions, there are some more ways of link building that is as or more effective and also get indexed fast. All roads lead to Rome.Pick the road that best suits you |

Article writing and submitting is a tried and true method of link building that will be around for a long time. These other methods that you elude to may bring flash in the pan results today, but get slapped silly tomorrow and lose their effectiveness over night.

From your post, it does not appear that you are spinning your articles... so the high PR sites get indexed, and the low pr sites articles get dumped into supplimental index. So while the low PR sites are probably no good anyways, your experiment is only valid if you have spun your articles. |

Spinning can certainly help as the above poster mentioned. Another thing you can do after submitting articles is to then bookmark them at social sites to try to speed up the process of those articles getting indexed. It can take some extra time, but may pay off. I wouldn't go crazy and bookmark each article at 20 or 30 social sites, but maybe just 3 or 4 of the most popular ones. You are just trying to get Google, Yahoo, etc to find the article. |

It is not worth the time to spin them or rewrite. Just do EZA, Goarticles and a couple more. Thats enough. Spend the time on writing content or taking some much needed Rest. |

You have to spin your article unique enough to benefit from multiple listing and good link juice! The same articles pointing to you will always de-valued in some way... although it still count as a link.

Just imagine if someone woth a big following released a book tomorrow and said release the same articles to these 5 directories... and 10,000 people followed his advice ..the alarm bells at google would go off pretty quickly. If you can spin them then do it.
