Did Google PageRank Update Just Happen?

One of my new domains is showing a PageRank as of today.

I thought there would be posts all over WF about it, but haven't seen any yet.

So is it really happening?

Yes, my site just went to PR 2 after being 0 since I launched it. It was a nice surprise!

Yeah, I'm glad to finally have a pagerank on some of my sites that have been around at least 6 months.

Seems like it's been forever since an update.

Yep, it seems to have updated. Though no official word from Google themselves yet.

I've been surprised that no one is talking about it.

With Google removing Pagerank from Webmaster Tools, I really thought they'd be removing it from the toolbar too, and soon. But instead they seem to have updated it.

It's very strange....and even stranger that no one seems to be talking about it.

Has everyone knocked off early to hit the halloween parties or something?

Yep, I got an upgrade on all my sites but one, so I am happy about that.

I just got shuffled to the #1 rank for the name of the niche I'm in after being #2 to #3 for the last few years. The only relevence this has to do with this conversation is that the other websites that were above me had been doing backlinking campaigns and off page SEO through Facebook and Twitter, and God knows what.

I haven't done any of that, but I do have backlinks that are over a decade old in some cases.

It was funny to watch someone take the #2 spot away from me about two moths ago using all the latest tactics. They had a very short reign. Now they're gone, and I'm at the #1 spot for that keyword. I have very high rankings on scores of other keywords/phrases for that niche, but owning the #1 spot for the name of the niche is pretty cool.
