I have one page on my blog that took a nosedive of about 50 places in one day. The only thing I did was link build quite a bit for that specific page. Can just one page in a domain get sandboxed? Either this made it dance a bit or it is possible as my backlinks went from 18-20 but Google only reports a small % of BL. My ranking went from 27 to 69 and most keyword ranking related to the keyword I am talking about dropped..... The rest of the site is fine most pages are up... Weird |

Specific pages on a site can yes...happens all the time. Google is more about pages on a domain, then the domain itself. But normally that page will come back...somewhere. I highly doubt it is de-indexed....sandbox effect itself is a common occurrence. A Page will at various times disappear as Google reorganizes it's result pages (the index) and determines where your page belongs at present...

If you type "index checker" into google or "am i blacklisted" there are some free online checkers that will answer whether your site is in trouble... You're in the Google Dance my friend . My recommendation is to maintain your aggression. The mistake people make when something like this happens is to stop linking... so it's like 100s of backlinks then 0... and Google's like... ummm hummm, gotchya!

How long has it been since this happened? Had this happen to me a few times over the past month or two. Usually, all I had to do was wait a few days and it would mysteriously pop back up to where it was before. Very weird... and annoying. I'm starting to get a little more used to it, but my heard still sinks a little every time it happens. ![]() Hopefully, your site will rebound like mine always does. |

All from pr 5 or higher unrelated/connected or better sites w do follow. Cant wait for the next PR update... I am hoping it is the dance but the domain is about a year old now thought that stopped with time? |

Yeah they are good and getting better all the time. Luckily the links should be getting discovered at a semi varied rate and not all at once. I never ping when I back link, I think it is a dead giveaway. No I am not him (the entertainer), somehow I doubt he's sitting in his living room at 4am on a Saturday morning working on websites... But I do 'love money' hence I am working at home on a Sat morning at 4am. so eventually I won't have to work at all...

My primary domain is 5 years old... and it still happens. Very weird. I try not to hold my breath when it happens, but it still freaks me out a little. It's very sad how much power Google holds over us, isn't it? One little change in their database can have send us into a depression and severely affect our bottom line (if the website brings in a substantial amount from organic traffic, that is). |

They have the power to destroy thousands of million dollar plus a year websites with a single update... Scary how much of the search market they have. I think they will face antitrust action before long. They just started a new policy of acquiring at least one company a month...
