How do we find do-follow links

I've finally got my website up and running. Now I need the traffic. I saw people selling lists containing do-follow blog urls......and wondered," Why can't I find do-follow blog links myself?" If so many people can do it, Why can't I?
Well, that's the first thought that came to my mind. The second thought was, "Yeah....and do I know how to find do-follow links?" No's the answer but I vowed not to buy link lists, because they're not worth the money if I can find them myself.
So I need your help finding myself some high PR do-follow websites I can use to put my link.
I know I can buy the PyroGenius Wordpress Commenter but I think I'll go slow and steady first and try doing stuff manually in the beginning.

Yeah right!! Is there a plugin of sorts I could use to harvest a list of websites with a specific PR,etc??

BTW that's what I was doing right now!
