... in only 4mths with 1.8 million competing pages. No meta tags... no on page optimization... no H1 tags... no meta description... nothing but the "long tail" title. Even beat out a full blown write up on a very popular and heavily optimized blog; (which is on the same page 2). NICE! No, not gonna tell y'all the title tag; its an unreleased product. ![]() Just thought I'd share with everybody; esp. those busting your brains over "SEO". PLP, tecHead |

| smartOnly 10; and that's due to me doing some research before I decided on that particular long-tail phrase. My point being, (IMHO) "long tail" KW research is the new KW research; as opposed to traditional KW research. From all my tests over the past 6~8mths, "long-tail" has out performed traditional KWs across the board. Not a new concept, I know; I didn't "discover" anything. Just sharing results. |

This can happen from some of the testing that I have done, one of the factors that Google uses is how much content is on a page and it has a sweet spot Google seems to like very very short pages or very long pages of content This does not surprise me Happens to me a few times now and then Ed |

As long as in aggregate you are still getting decent search volumes across those long tail keywords. No point being on page 1 or Google for a phrase no one ever searches for - not that I am suggesting you have done that. However, I've seen more than one SEO guru touting how they can get on the front page in 24 seconds flat. Dig a little and you discover it's for a phrase with zero search volume.

Just remember that long tail does not mean long keyword phrase..... Some people think that a phrase with several words is a long tail phrase - this leads to confusing when talking about SERPS results, as multiple keyword phrases don't translate into cash like long tail phrases do. Also multiple keyword phrases are easier to get results for than long tail (because they're less profitable). Sometimes there's a reason no-one else is chasing a keyword/phrase. |

Here's a good article on what you're trying to say; 'cause, no offense, but your explanation just made the confusing even more confused. ![]() PLP, tecHead
