SEO for Adsense

I'm just starting to play in the adsense arena and the area in which I have the most questions is SEO, how to use anchor text, etc.

Rather than ask elementary questions here, I was hoping that folks could direct me to various articles, free sources, etc., that contain current SEO fundamentals as related to Adsense.

The reason I am stressing that materials be current is because I've already read several documents that ultimately proved to be dated or greatly affected by recent changes in Google policies, results of user research, etc.

I'm very willing to spend hours reading and educating myself in SEO, but I am asking for a little help in getting to accurate source material.
