Default How To Monitize Your Website With Adsense

I would definitely like to know which the best formats are, and if I am doing anything wrong in my AdSense account settings, I definitely will want to plug the holes there.

Thanks
Regards,

Bob

Best formats are : Large Rectangle, Medium Rectangle and Sky Scaper
Best background: White or site background
Best customization: Blue links, black url, grey text, no borders
Best Place: Above fold, below title, top left

Hope that helps

And test link units. Many omit them. But they do well on some of my sites.

If you have an entertainment site, sometimes picture and video ads work much better.

Place Only ONE Ad Per Page. Although Google allows 3 ads per page many people put the max of 3 to try to make more money. However you should take note that your share of advertising profits will increase the less ads you have on each page. Using one ad therefore, will give you the greatest share of the adsense profit.

Experiment with having color coordinated ads and using other colors. Best results seem to vary from niche to niche.

I've often wondered about this, but personally do not have conclusive evidence one way or the other. Is this a generally held view?

I too don't have conclusive evidence because I just started on adsense and I learned it from someone who has been doing adsense for 4 years.

Sounds stupid, but one time I went back to my site after I had it all done, and saw that the adsense ads were not very relevant. So test your keywords, and be sure relevant ads show. If your site is already built, tweak your SEO and content to draw the most relevant ads possible. I think there is a plugin somewhere that helps with this.
