I want to get an idea of where I am ranking for my keyword at the moment without trawling through the whole of google. I have tried a couple of the free tools but had no success. In fact one seems to be blocking Google at the moment. What do you fine folks use? |

I find these give a pretty good overview.... they also let you choose the country you are targetting if you dont have access to a proxy or server there too which is handy. allno1 seoserp Don't get too caught up in it, especially if the site isnt 3 months old yet. It'll likely rank higher/lower on some days than others. In fact, i've seen it happen anything up to 6 months+. |

I use this free position checker tool to check the rankings of my sites. I get to see where my sites are ranking for certain keywords in three countries.

The problem with that is you have to do one at a time, have to scroll through and count, and also many people fall into the trap of not logging out of google accounts or clearing personal search sessions, both of which can make results radically different to reality. Also is you live in the UK for example you get UK-centric results unless you know how to get around it, so just using on of the suggested sites is far, far superior to using Google. |
